For the most part, the numbers were gruesome in Jackson Memorial's win over Toms River North in Friday night's WOBM Classic championship game at Pine Belt Arena, but the only ones that mattered to the Jaguars were on the scoreboard.

Christmas Classic Update: Jackson Memorial & Toms River North Set to Meet in Finals

Toms River North senior forward Sean Martin was his team's leading scorer as a junior last year, so when first-year coach Rory Caswell told Martin before the season that he was not going to be shooting as much this season in the scheme, he expected Martin to need time to adjust.

It was an exciting first day of action in this season’s WOBM Christmas Classic and it should only get better when the tournament resumes with the quarterfinals at Pine Belt Arena on Dec. 26. Here is a look back at Saturday’s action as well as a look ahead at the quarterfinals.

At a program that has produced a 1,000-yard rusher every year since 2003, one of the best compliments Manalapan can receive is that if you pluck out a game film from five years ago, the performance of the offensive line doesn’t look much different than one from this season.
