Basile's commitment, which was first reported by The Asbury Park Press, brings the total to three Shore Conference standouts who are part of the incoming recruiting class for head coach Kevin Callahan's Hawks. He joins the tandem of Rumson-Fair Haven lineman Peter Righi and Colts Neck lineman Ryan Wetzel, both of whom are also Shore Sports Network first-team All-Shore selections.

A three-year varsity standout, Basile was a sideline-to-sideline force at safety for the Mustangs, who went 6-4 and made a state playoff appearance. He had 88 tackles, including 51 solo tackles, broke up 8 passes, had 3 tackles for a loss, recovered 3 fumbles, forced a fumble and had an interception. In a 14-13 loss to Central Jersey Group V finalist Manalapan in the playoffs, he had 18 tackles. Also a running back, he had 540 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 59 carries (9.2 ypc).
