The Shore Sports Network in partnership with Jersey Mike’s returns Friday night with another live broadcast of Shore Conference wrestling.

In what has become one of the best events of the entire scholastic year, Point Beach will host Point Boro in the annual Battle of Point Pleasant at 7 p.m. on Friday night in the Jersey Mike's Match of the Week. The Panthers, ranked No. 8 in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 have won every match in the rivalry dating back to 1998. Will this be the year Point Beach ends the streak?

It is a very intriguing matchup with Point Boro being led by standout brothers Jack Bailey (Jr., 20-2, 152 pounds) and senior Ty Bailey (Sr., 20-1, 160 pounds). The Panthers also have a strong presence down low with sophomore Lucas Torre (17-4) at 106 pounds and a battle-tested lineup at all 14 weights.

Point Beach is led by a very good group of upperweights, headlined by senior Jason Sherlock (19-1) at 182 pounds. The Garnet Gulls' lineup is very strong from 138 and up starting with Kip Lovgren (16-3) at 138 and continuing with Jesse Bowers (19-0) at 145, Jared Kerr (12-4) at 145/152, Jason Schulz (15-1) at 152/160, George Kaiafas (15-1) at 170, Sherlock at 182, Josh Ramos (15-4) at 195, Liam Buday (17-1) at 220 and Noah Ramos (10-7) at heavyweight. Riley Simon (17-4) anchors the lower weights at 126 pounds.

Shore Sports Network Managing Editor Bob Badders will be joined by former Bergen Catholic and Brick Memorial coach Russ Pascale on the live stream broadcast beginning at 6:50 pm. The match can be viewed on shoresportsnetwork.com or the free Shore Sports Network mobile app.
