Watch: The Griffins Visit Toms River North in Our Game of the Week

When the football schedules were released in late summer many circled the November 6 meeting between Donovan Catholic and Toms River North as one that could feature a pair of undefeated teams. The Griffins have done their part but a pair of upset losses by the Mariners might have taken some of the luster off this one. However, it is one of the most intriguing matchups of what is the final weekend of the regular season and is also the “Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week” on The Shore Sports Network. Donovan received its toughest test of the season last weekend but a second-half comeback produced a 21-14 win over Southern, raised their record to 5-0 and allowed them to hold onto the #2 spot in the Jeep Store/Shore Sports Network Top 10. Meanwhile after losing two of their first three games North has rebounded with wins over Jackson Memorial and Toms River East thanks to an offense that produced 77 points in those games. The Mariners are ranked #9 in our top ten heading into what is the final game on their schedule before a still undisclosed two-week playoff plan.
