Thrive Week 7 Boys Soccer Player of the Week

Zach Frabizio, Ocean

Ocean advanced in both the Shore Conference and NJSIAA Central Group III Tournaments this year and both results came thanks to the performance of the Spartans' senior goalkeeper.

After coming through with a clutch performance in a win on penalty kicks over Manalapan in the Shore Conference Tournament, Frabizio did it again against 2022 Central Jersey Group III runner-up Allentown in the first round of the state tournament. Frabizio made save after save throughout the 100 minutes of 1-1 draw that required kicks to settle, then saved two attempts in the shootout.

Frabizio was not done yet. After delivering the two saves that set Ocean up for the win, the senior then stepped to the spot and converted the winning kick to send the Spartans ahead to the sectional quarterfinals.

Frabizio claimed the last Player of the Week award with 42 percent of the votes cast, which bested runner-up Kosta Papanikolas of Toms River North and the 35 percent of the vote that he drew. Middletown North sophomore Paul Que also reached a double-figure percentage with 15.5 percent.

As the latest Thrive Player of the Week, Frabizio will receive a shirt and free training session courtesy of Thrive.
