Costello has been hogging a spot on the Player of the Week nominations and now has a Player of the Week title to add to what has been a dominant season at the plate. The LSU commit is now a three-time Player of the Week nominee and also has a Monmouth County Player of the Week award to go with this week's recognition.

This past week, Costello again took his home-run-hitting act on the road by launching his 13th and 14th homers of the season in a 10-5 Ranney win at Matawan. In that game alone, he went 3-for-4 and drove in six on the way to reaching 34 RBI by the end of the week. For the entirety of last week, Costello was 7-for-14 with a double, three home runs and 12 RBI in four Panthers wins.

Tiernan keeps showing up in big games for St. Rose and his performance Saturday was his best yet as a high-school player. Tiernan pitched a no-hitter in a 4-0 win over Ocean in the Shore Conference Tournament opening round, striking out 12 while walking five.

It was the second no-hitter of the season for Tiernan, who pitched a five-inning no-hitter against Neptune on April 13 and started a combined no-hitter against Henry Hudson in St. Rose's season-opener. Tiernan is the fourth Shore Conference pitcher to complete a seven-inning no-hitter this season, joining Raritan's Phil Kramer, Toms River East's Jack Mika and Southern's Brady Lesiak.

The senior also went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and a run scored in the win.

Nick Malinowski, Fr., 1B/RHP, Barnegat

Barnegat got back on track last week and Malinowski led the way in the two victories by his team. The Bengals freshman standout tormented Pinelands during the two-game series between the teams, going 4-for-5 with a double, triple and two homers at the plate in the while also pitching a two-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts in one of the wins.

Malinowski won the Week 6 award in a tight race, racking up 33 percent of the vote to edge runner-up Jackson Osmond of Jackson Memorial (30 percent). Colts Neck's Casey Gardiner (14 percent) and Donovan Catholic's Dave Yorke (12) also exceeded a double-digit percentage of the vote.

Danny Trentacosta, Sr., RHP, Marlboro

Trentacosta made three appearances for Marlboro last week and although he did not earn a win in any of them, he was impressive in all three and helped the Mustangs win two huge games.

The Mustangs senior right-hander opened his busy week by striking out the side to close out a 7-5 win for his squad over Red Bank Catholic at the Tip Your Cap Classic on May 7. The next day, Trentacosta again came on in relief to throw another 1 2/3 scoreless frames in a 1-0 loss to Manalapan.

The bulk of Trentacosta's work last week came in a 2-1 Marlboro win over Monmouth Regional in 11 innings in the first round of the Shore Conference Tournament. The SSN Week 6 Monmouth County Pitcher of the Week pitched 7 2/3 scoreless innings for a no-decision while allowing one unearned run on three hits and four walks while striking out six. In total, Trentacosta pitched 10 1/3 innings, allowed one unearned run on three hits, walked four and struck out 10.

Trentacosta won the Week 6 award by the slimmest of margins, beating out runner-up Nick Lovacco of Donovan Catholic by a single vote and a margin of 29.57 percent to 29.36. Middletown South's Jake Wenzel pulled in 15 percent of the vote and Matawan's Mark Kovach drew 11.5.
