Junior right-hander and Old Dominion commit Logan Duffy struck out 10 in five scoreless, two-hit innings in his varsity debut and the Hawks (1-1) topped the Wildcats (0-1) in Pinelands' season-opener.
Duffy also went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run scored and junior Blake Warrer drove in a pair of runs during a 1-for-4 game for Manchester.

Sophomore Ryan Frontera hit a grand slam and drove in seven runs in a 3-for-4 day at the plate to lead the Lions (3-0) past the Seraphs (0-2) for their third straight win to open the season.
Frontera also cracked a double and scored two runs, while senior Colin Dowlen was 1-for-3 with a double.
Senior left-hander Tony Sansone allowed one unearned run and struck out 11 with just one walk over 5 one-hit innings.
Monmouth 8, Neptune 6
Junior Chris Theobold and senior Mike Cavalluzzi hit back-to-back RBI doubles during a six-run bottom of the third inning and the Falcons battle back to beat the Scarlet Fliers for their third straight win to open the season.
Neptune jumped out to a 5-1 lead by the end of the second inning, with sophomore Quincy Esannason tripling home a run and junior Ryan Cole bashing a two-run home run. Junior right-hander Zach Lopes came on in relief for Monmouth and picked up his first career win by eating up 4 1/3 innings of work.

Senior Reese Hackett led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and scored the winning run on a passed ball with two out to give the Mustangs a come-from-behind win over the Colts.
Junior Ryan Mulcahey sacrificed Hackett to second and senior Cole Manfro's flyball to centerfield allowed Hackett to tag up and head to third with two out, setting him up to score on the passed ball.
Junior Ryan Turner doubled and scored the tying run in the bottom of the sixth on a wild pitch after junior Alexey Stout gave CBA a 2-1 lead in the top of the inning with his second of two RBI singles.
