Toms River North 45, Hunterdon Central 33

Junior swing Jenna Paul exploded for a career-high 32 points as Toms River North (28-3) advanced for its first Group 4 state final since 2000, when it won the crown and reached the Tournament of Champions final, bowing to Red Bank Catholic, 57-40.

North will face defending champion and 2017 TOC winner Franklin, in the Group 4 title game on Sunday at RWJBarnabas Health Arena in Toms River at 6 p.m.

The Mariners crafted a 12-5 edge in the first quarter, took a 22-14 lead into the break and increased the margin to 39-23 after three quarters.

Paul added eight rebounds and junior guard Brielle Bisogno finished with six points, eight boards, three steals and two assists. Senior forward Amanda Johnson blocked five shots, cleared five rebounds and dished out three assists.
