Colts Neck 7, No. 2 Wall 6
Senior Reece Horneck hit a game-tying RBI single and the winning run scored on an error on the same play and the Cougars stunned the previously-unbeaten Crimson Knights for the second straight season.
Colts Neck upset Wall in last year's Monmouth County Tournament Round of 16, with the No. 16 Cougars holding on to beat the top-seeded Crimson Knights, 11-8.
Wall took a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by senior Dylan Richey and gave the ball back to senior Grant Shulman for his third inning of work. The senior entered the game with a 1-0 record and two saves in four relief appearances this season.
The Cougars erased an early four-run deficit by scoring five runs in the bottom of the third. Nick Torres started the scoring with an RBI single, Horneck followed with a two-run single and senior George Zemlanicky capped it with a two-run double.
