Shore Town Baseball who took over the operating ownership of the Lakewood BlueClaws just two weeks ago has announced that Joe Ricciutti has been named President & General Manager of the Philadelphia Phillies Class “A” baseball team. Ricciutti was president of the Staten Island Yankees from 2007-11 and in 2008 was named Minor League Executive of the Year by Ballpark Digest. During that time period, the team was owned by Mandalay Baseball whose CEO was Art Matin, now the managing member of the Shore Town Baseball group that runs the BlueClaws.

Ricciutti has spent the past six years as Assistant Vice President/University Event Management at Columbia University where he oversaw a staff of 150 full-time and 250 part-time employees. His division provided event management, venue rental and food and beverage services for over 34,000 events annually across the college campuses.

Despite being a native of Staten Island, Ricciutti knows the Jersey Shore well having spent summers over the last 25 years in Lavallette with his family. His first order of business will be to analyze the operation over the final three weeks of the season where he plans to talk with staff and fans.
