WATCH: Lacey vs. Central Battle In Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week

Central and Lacey were Thanksgiving Day rivals for many years and even when they stopped playing on Turkey Day they continued meeting on a yearly basis until 2011. However, when they moved into different divisions they stopped playing but the rivalry resumes Friday night when the Lions and Golden Eagles meet in the Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week on the Shore Sports Network.  The game will be streamed live on shoresportsnetwork.com beginning at 6:30 with Kevin Williams, Vin Ebenau and Ed Sarluca calling the action.  You can also watch the game by downloading the free Shore Sports Network mobile app.

Lacey, who has won the last nine meetings between the schools, is off to a 2-0 start and last week played their first-ever home night game.  The lights will be shining Friday when the Golden Eagles (1-0) make the three mile trip from Bayville to Lanoka Harbor.  The Lions have allowed just six points while winning their first two games and on offense have been led by senior running back Justin Gorski (228 yards, 4 TD’s),  Central shut out Jackson Liberty in their season opener last week and got 121 yards rushing and a touchdown from Landon Richardson.
