High-flying Hornets

It was a thrilling, back-and-forth game when Red Bank edged Holmdel, 28-26, thanks to plays like this from Holmdel quarterback Jeff DeCicco to running back Dean Gallo. DeCicco stands in the pocket and delivers a perfect pass while taking a hit, finding Gallo in stride for the long score.

Burton the Bull

Pinelands running back Evan Burton crushes a would-be Matawan tackler and rumbles for a 20-yard touchdown that completed the Wildcats' 26-22 comeback win.

Second-chance success

Brick Memorial's C.J. Lavarin couldn't haul in the pass straight away, but stayed with it and made a 7-yard touchdown catch while lying on his back in the end zone.

Breaking tackles all day

The Donovan Catholic duo of Nasir Calhoun and Jahdir Loftland had two great touchdown runs in the Griffins' 42-6 win over Keyport. Calhoun broke a handful of tackles on his way to a 52-yard touchdown run, while Loftland spun out of a tackle, reversed field and scored on a 48-yard touchdown run.
