Girls Basketball Ocean County Week 7 Player of the Week

The Basketball Player of the Week has been a staple of Shore Sports Network's coverage over the years and we have always left it up to the fans to decide the winner -- and still do. Now, SSN is recognizing its own choices for Player of the Week, not just in the Shore Conference, but in Monmouth and Ocean Counties individually.

Ocean County’s Week 7 Player of the Week Presented by AOSMI

Yana Shupak, Toms River East

Shupak has been on fire for Toms River East lately, helping them win five out of their last six games. Last week she averaged 20.75 points per game and set a career-high to be named Ocean County Player of the Week.

Shupak scored a career-high 33 points against Barnegat to start a three game winning streak for the Raiders. She knocked down three 3-pointers in that game and 12 2-point field goals.

Shupak followed that with a 25 point game against Central Regional. She also got her teammates involved with 9 assists and had 4 steals on the defensive end of the floor. She ended the week knocking down four 3-pointers against Cedar Creek to finish with 15 points.

Each Ocean County Player of the Week will receive a $10 gift card courtesy of Surf Taco.
