Shore Sports Network Girls Basketball Final Shore 16 Rankings

1. Red Bank Catholic (26-5) Previous Rank: 3 - The Caseys saw a couple weeks in the top spot during the season, until they lost to Manasquan in the SCT semifinals. That defeat seemed to be what RBC needed as they ran through the state tournament and won their first Non-Public A Group Title since 2019. No matter what rotation Coach Joe Montano put on the floor, the players performed in the postseason. The Caseys will be the early front runners in the 2024-2025 season with all their starters and key reserves returning.
2. Manasquan (26-5) Previous Rank: 2 - After being eliminated last season in the Central Jersey Group II Final, the Warriors set a goal to get their rematch against New Providence. This year Manasquan went on the road and left with the CJGII trophy. After they defeated New Providence, Manasquan easily ran through Middle Township and Madison on their way to the Group II Title. Manasquan had a deep team this season, but they graduate four out of the seven players who saw the majority of minutes in crunch time. The senior class leaves with two Group II Titles under their belts.

3. St. John Vianney (22-8) Previous Rank: 1 - For the first time since 2019 SJV does not finish in the top spot in the Shore Conference. SJV had to replace a lot of pieces this season and the majority of the team did not have the big game experience.  The Lady Lancers bring back the majority of their players, only graduating Julia Karpell who finishes her career with three SCT Championships, one Group Title and one Tournament of Champions trophy.
4. Ocean Township  (24-6) Previous Rank: 5 - For the second straight season Ocean made it to the Central Jersey Group III Final where they fell to Ewing. Ocean won back-to-back division titles and made it to back-to-back SCT quarterfinal games with this group of seniors. The Spartans will be in a rebuilding mode with only Kayden Clark returning from the starting line-up. Senior Eli Clark, who ran the offense for Ocean, is graduating with 1,092 points and 440 assists in her career.
5. Trinity Hall (17-9) Previous Rank: 4 -.Trinity Hall had the toughest first round opponent in all of the state tournament in Paul VI. The Monarchs fell short to Paul VI in the second round of South Jersey Non-Public A, losing 52-48. Harvard commit Nina Emnace is graduating the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,497 and 387 steals. She helped build Trinity Hall with Coach Matt McCarthy into the program it is. Emnace is leaving Trinity Hall in good hands with the sophomore class who stepped-up during the postseason.

6. St. Rose (19-10) Previous Rank: 6 - St. Rose made it to the South Jersey Non-Public B Final in Coach Hatfield's first season in charge. The Purple Roses should start next season in the top five, only graduating two seniors in Maggie Kerr and Tanaiyah Decker. The returning players gained valuable experience this year making it to the SJNPB Final against Rutgers Prep, who they played close in the first half.

7. Rumson-Fair Haven (18-9) Previous Rank: 7 -.Rumson made it to their third straight CJGII semifinal game, falling to eventual winner Manasquan. Raquel Guidetti reached the 1,000 point milestone this season. The Bulldogs will need to replace the leadership of Ella Mason, Abby Doyle and Guidetti next season. Sophomore Erin Reid took big steps forward her second season and showed how good she is on both sides of the floor.

8. Howell (22-8) Previous Rank: 11 - Howell had the best season in the school’s history this season, winning the Central Jersey Group IV championship. The Rebels are in good shape to return to the CJGIV championship with all but two players returning. Junior Kiera McKown turned into a team leader this season and freshman Kylee Beam had a great postseason once she was put into the starting line-up.

9. Red Bank Regional (14-9) Previous Rank: 8 -. RBR finished the season losing to state power Ewing in the Central Jersey Group III semifinal game. RBR is in great position with returning all but one starter next year in Camryn Gardner. With the talent like Zoe Gulley, Synai Blychanton and Caroline Polloway returning for the Bucs, they will most likely be the favorites in CJGIII next season.

10. Wall (20-8) Previous Rank: 9 -. Coach Colleen Wisher’s final season saw seniors Shayne Eldridge and Emily Tvrdik reach the 1,000 point milestone and had her team in the Shore Conference top ten all season. Wall will be in a different team next season with a new head coach and three seniors to replace in the starting line-up.

11. Shore Regional (18-12) Previous Rank:  Not Ranked - Shore made it to their third straight Group I Final, an accomplishment only achieved by Manasquan and SJV over the last ten years. Shore had an up and down regular season, but it all came together once the CJGI tournament started. Next year look for Reese Fiore and Kimi Sayson to take over the leadership role left by the graduation of Conley Smolokoff.

13. Ranney (15-11) Previous Rank: 12 - Ranney had a strong run in the South Jersey Non-Public B tournament, upsetting the No. 2 seed Wildwood Catholic on the road on a shot at the buzzer to make it to the semifinal round. All of Ranney’s defeats in the Shore Conference came to teams ranked in the top ten during the season. Returning their full roster, look for Ranney to make a deeper run next season in the postseason and battle inside the top ten.

13. Manchester (21-8) Previous Rank: 11 - Manchester had a historic season with NC State commit Devyn Quigley breaking the all-time scoring record in the Shore Conference. She finished with 2,627 points, passing Point Boro star Kelly Hughes. Replacing Quigley’s production on both ends of the floor will be difficult but freshman Madeline Nolan showed she can be a complete player and quickly became a second option for Manchester this season.

14. Holmdel (14-11) Previous Rank: 13 - Holmdel’s Allison Cannon reached a milestone, scoring her 1,000 point this season. The Hornets will need to find someone to replace Cannon’s production on both ends of the floor. Junior Mackenzie Teevan made huge improvements from last season and will look to lead Holmdel with Michelle Steele next season.

15. Jackson Memorial (18-7) Previous Rank: 16 - Jackson Memorial’s run in CJGIV ended this season, losing in the semifinal round to Hightstown. The Jaguars are a young team, graduating two players but return six players who were in the rotation since the start of the season. Freshman Cali Brown helped run the offense and improved throughout the season. Jackson Memorial will be one of the favorites in CJGIV next season.
16. Southern Regional (20-7) Previous Rank: 15 - Southern had one of the biggest turnarounds in New Jersey, nevermind the Shore Conference. They went from a 4 win team to a 20 win team this year. A big part was because senior Skylar Soltis averaged a double-double one season after returning from ACL surgery. Junior Casey Collins showed she can score from inside and out averaging 14.7 PPG and reaching the 1,000 point milestone this season.
