Week 5

1. Red Bank Catholic (12-2) Previous Rank: 1 - RBC opened the week defeating No. 5 Trinity Hall 64-42. The Caseys outscored Trinity Hall 25-9 in the 4th quarter to secure the victory. Sunday they defeated Ewing, who is ranked No. 7 in New Jersey, 50-46. RBC once again played a strong 4th quarter on the defensive end, outscoring Ewing 11-5. RBC travels to No. 11 Howell on Tuesday and No. 9 Rumson on Thursday. Saturday the Caseys travel to play Long Island Lutheran (NY), who is ranked No. 2 in the country.

2. Manasquan (13-2) Previous Rank: 2 - Manasquan went 2-0 last week defeating Raritan 63-12 and rival Wall 49-21. Manasquan shut Wall out in the 3rd quarter, outscoring them 17-0 to open the game up. Monday the Warriors travel to rival No. 8 St. Rose and host No. 15 Point Boro in Class B Coastal match-ups. 

3. St. John Vianney (10-5) Previous Rank: 3 - SJV picked up two wins against teams ranked in the Shore 16 to start the week. The Lady Lancers defeated No. 14 Neptune 73-32 and No. 12 Ranney 69-29, but fell to Long Island Lutheran (NY), who is ranked No. 2 in the country, 74-48. SJV plays two Class A Coastal games, hosting Long Branch on Tuesday and traveling to Freehold Boro on Thursday. Friday they travel to play Ewing, who is ranked No. 7 in New Jersey. 

4. Ocean Township (13-2) Previous Rank: 4 -.Ocean went 3-0 last week, picking up two division wins against Lakewood and Monmouth Regional. Ocean had their game against Wildwood Catholic canceled due to snow on Saturday. The Spartans travel to rival Shore Regional on Tuesday to decide the winner of Class B Central. Ocean travels to Mainland, who is ranked No. 9 in New Jersey, in a non-conference game between two Group 3 schools. They end the week hosting division opponent Donovan Catholic on Friday.

5. Trinity Hall (10-5) Previous Rank: 5  - Trinity Hall went 2-1 last week against Class B North opponents. The Monarchs defeated both Middletown North and Middletown South last week and lost to No. 1 RBC 64-42. Trinity Hall hosts Marlboro on Monday in a Class A North match-up and travels to NO. 8 St. Rose on Friday in a non-divisional match-up.

6. Red Bank Regional (7-4) Previous Rank: 6 -. RBR only played one game last week due to weather. Sunday they defeated Secaucus 61-37 in the Hoops for Hope Showcase at RBR. The Bucs outscored their opponent 37-12 in the second half to pick up the non-conference win. RBR plays two divisional games this week, hosting Middletown North on Tuesday and traveling to Middletown South on Thursday. Saturday they travel to Gloucester Catholic in a non-conference game.

7. Wall (12-3) Previous Rank: 7 - Wall played two different games this week, defeating No. 13 Holmdel 60-50 in a game they controlled from the opening tip. They followed that with a lopsided defeat to rival No. 2 Manasquan 49-21. Manasquan shut Wall out in the 3rd quarter 17-0 to open the game up. Wall plays two teams ranked in the Shore 16 this week, traveling to No. 14 Neptune on Monday and traveling to No. 8 St. Rose on Wednesday in Class B Coastal games. 

8. St. Rose (11-5) Previous Rank: 8 - St. Rose started the week defeating division opponent No. 12 Ranney 47-36. Three players scored in double-digits and five different players knocked down a 3-pointer when Ranney would get the score close. St. Rose dropped a close game to Morris Catholic, who is ranked No. 1 in New Jersey and top ten in the country, 55-52. Sophomore Brooke Missry made seven 3-pointers and finished with a career-high 22 points for the Purple Roses. St. Rose plays three teams in the top ten of the Shore 16 this week. They host rival, No. 2 Manasquan, on Tuesday and travel to No. 7 Wall on Thursday. The Roses end the week home against No. 5 Trinity Hall. 

9. Rumson-Fair Haven (8-5) Previous Rank: 10 - Rumson only played one game this week due to the snow storms. Sunday they lost to Mainland, who is ranked No. 9 in New Jersey, 57-49 in the Hoops for Hope Showcase. Rumson looked rusty to start the game, but battled back to take the lead before half-time. A strong 3rd quarter by Mainland opened the game up and they held on in the 4th quarter.  Rumson plays two Class B North games this week, traveling to Colts Neck on Tuesday and hosting No. 1 RBC on Thursday.

10. Manchester (9-4) Previous Rank: 11 - Manchester cracks the top ten and is currently on a five game win streak which includes three wins against Shore 16 opponents. Last week they defeated Toms River North and No. 9 Howell 45-33. Manchester will be a more dangerous team if they continue to get the offensive production that freshman Madeline Nolan had last week. She scored 15 points against TRN and 16 against Howell which included going 6 for 8 from the foul-line. Manchester has three Class B South games this week, hosting Lacey on Tuesday and Pinelands on Wednesday. Friday Manchester travels to Central Regional.

11. Howell (10-3) Previous Rank: 9 - After winning seven straight games, Howell fell to No. 11 Manchester on Saturday in a game that was scheduled last minute due to the snow storm. Howell picked up a divisional win against Marlboro earlier in the week. Howell hosts No. 1 RBC on Tuesday and travels to Allentown in a non-conference game on Wednesday. 

12. Ranney (5-8) Previous Rank: 12 - Ranney lost two games last week to No. 3 St. John Vianney and No. 8 St. Rose. Against St. Rose, Ranney kept battling back but could not get closer than 4 points. Ranney needs to go on a roll to qualify for the Shore Conference Tournament. This week they host Raritan on Tuesday and travel to No. 14 Neptune in a Class B Coastal match-up. 

13. Holmdel (6-6) Previous Rank: 13 - Holmdel only played one game this week due to the snow and lost to No. 7 Wall 60-50. Wall controlled the game from the start creating turnovers. Holmdel plays two Class A Coastal games this week, hosting Freehold Boro on Monday and traveling to Matawan on Thursday. Friday they play Saddle River Day at home. 

14. Neptune (12-5) Previous Rank: 14 - Neptune continues to roll with two wins last week against non-divisional opponents. The Fliers defeated Raritan 57-34 and Brick Memorial 64-40. Neptune will be tested this week, hosting No. 7 Wall on Monday and No. 12 Ranney on Wednesday in Class B Coastal action. Neptune can crack the top ten if they can win those two games. Neptune also hosts Lacey on Thursday in a non-divisional match-up.

15. Point Pleasant Boro (8-5) Previous Rank 15 - Another team who only had one game due to the weather, Point Boro defeats Long Branch 52-45. Three players scored in double-digits to give the Panthers a balanced scoring attack. Point Boro travels to Matawan on Tuesday and No. 2 Manasquan on Thursday. 

16. Jackson Memorial (8-3) Previous Rank: 16 - Jackson Memorial only played one game last week, defeating Barnegat 50-35. After dropping two games in a row, the Jaguars won two in a row. Transfer Chelsea Lavezzo is getting more comfortable with her new team, scoring 17 points against Barnegat. Jackson Memorial has a busy week in Class A South, traveling to Brick Memorial on Monday and Toms River North on Thursday. Tuesday they host Toms River East.
