The battle for the top spot in the Shore Conference will be on the line Tuesday evening when Southern Regional, ranked No. 1 in the Shore Sports Network Shore 16 rankings, travels to Lincroft to face No. 2 Christian Brothers Academy in a marquee showdown between two of the best high school wrestling teams in New Jersey.

The match will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is the Shore Sports Network's inaugural Shore Conference Match of the Week, presented by the United States Marines. For those attending the match, stop by the Marines' table for more information and to participate in their pull-up challenge.

Southern is the defending NJSIAA Group 5 state champion and enters the match with a 6-0 record, including wins over Brick Memorial, Jackosn Memorial, Mount Olive, and defending Group 2 champion High Point. The Rams boast a deep and powerful lineup led by senior Matt Henrich, who won last season's NJSIAA 150-pound state title and is committed to Virginia Tech. Juniors Wyatt Stout (6th in NJ at 132) and Hayden Hochstrasser (8th in NJ at 144) are also returning state medalists while seniors Collin French and Mitch Bivona, juniors Scottie Sari, Bryce Manera, and Noah Fontana, and sophomore Anthony Mason are all returning state qualifiers.

CBA is 5-1 with its lone loss coming to state No. 3 St. Peter's Prep. The Colts defeated Don Bosco Prep and St. Joseph (Metuchen) during Saturday's Catholic School Duals. They also have a loaded roster led by senior Alex Nini, who is a three-time state medalist coming off a third-place finish in last season's NJSIAA Tournament. He is committed to Rutgers University. CBA has a total of six returning state qualifiers with seniors Tyler Venet and Nicholas Campagna, juniors AJ Falcone and Jacob Howland, and sophomore Bobby Duffy. The Colts also have a remarkable freshman class led by 113-pounder Paul Kenny, who won a world title over the summer and is ranked No. 2 in the nation in his weight class. Killian Collucio at 106 and Brock Oizerowitz at 165/175 are also freshman hammers off to great starts.

Southern hosted last year's matchups and came away with an epic 27-25 win.
