Each week during the high school football season Turning Point breakfast, brunch & lunch will partner with the Shore Sports Network on “The Turning Point of the Game.” One play or one moment from our Friday Night Game of the Week broadcast will be selected and the player or players involved will each receive a gift card from the Turning Point which has 12 restaurant locations in New Jersey including 6 in Monmouth & Ocean County.

This week’s “Turning Point of the Game”:

Midway through the third quarter, Jackson Memorial held a 14-7 lead over Brick Township but were forced to punt the ball away after being stopped on 3rd down. The Brick offense had been stifled since their lone touchdown in the first quarter but the Green Dragons would seemingly start their next drive with solid field position and a chance to tie the game up. Jackson's punter Jake McKown would prove to have other ideas, though—after receiving the snap, the senior sprinted towards his right and ripped off a 21-yard run. The fake punt moved Jackson into Brick territory and helped extend their drive which eventually ended with a five-yard Will Towns TD run. For his efforts, McKown will receive a gift card from Turning Point breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

Be sure and look every week for “The Turning Point of the Game.
