Senior Cullen Condon got the scoring started with an RBI single in the top of the first and classmate Jack Dawson took it from there with a four-hit complete game that baffled the Mustangs and sent the Warriors into the MCT quarterfinals next weekend.

Junior James Michko plated what proved to be the winning run with an RBI single in the top of the fourth that extended Manasquan's lead to 2-0. Senior Connor Malysa made it 3-0 with an RBI double in the top of the fifth and the Warriors pushed the lead to 4-0 later in the inning on an RBI single by sophomore Dylan Vowteras.

Sophomore Connor Voelkson capped the Manasquan scoring with a two-run single in the top of the seventh to put the game out of reach for Marlboro.

Junior Jack Tiernan helped his cause with RBI singles in both the fourth and sixth innings as he and sophomore Chris Zahlman combined on a two-hit shutout that propelled the Purple Roses past the Lancers and into the MCT round of 16 vs. Rumson-Fair Haven later this coming week.

Freshman Frank Soos opened the scoring with a two-out, two-run single in the top of the third inning and Tiernan responded by striking out the side in order in the bottom of the inning. From the bottom of the second inning to the first out of the bottom of the fourth, Tiernan struck out six out of seven batters -- including five in a row -- and also singled home a run to make the score 3-0.

Senior Ryan Kopf went 2-for-3 with a double, homer, two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Freehold Township offense and the Patriots fought off a challenge from the Green Wave to advance to the MCT round of 16 vs. No. 7 Wall.

Sophomore Matt Nuccio was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, an RBI and two stolen bases and junior C.J. Svoboda went 2-for-3 with two runs and two stolen bases in the win.

Junior Mike Avino came on to retire the final six batters of the game to nail down the save, including four strikeouts.

Senior Andre Jackson highlighted the Long Branch offensive attack by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and three stolen bases.

No. 4 Donovan Catholic 5, Brick Memorial 1

Senior Gavin Degnan hit a game-tying solo home run in the top of the third inning and junior Joe Maier drove in the first of his three RBI later in the inning as the Griffins rebounded from a first-inning run by Brick Memorial to top the Mustangs.

Maier plated the winning run with an RBI single in the third and after senior Rocco Scarpitti doubled home Donovan Catholic's third run in the fifth, Maier followed with a two-run double to stretch the lead to 5-1.

After giving up a single to junior Nicco Maribo, who stole second base and came around the score, Donovan Catholic junior left-hander Jake Marciano allowed just one hit for the remainder of his six innings while striking out a career-high 11.

Senior Connor Cilento set the school record with his 53rd career steal in the bottom of the third inning and scored the go-ahead run later in the inning as the Panthers topped the Colonials for their second straight win after starting the season 0-6.

Cilento swiped second on the back-end of a double-steal and scored on a sacrifice fly by junior Ryan Acquisto that gave Point Boro a 3-2 lead in the third.

Junior Bryson Kirby singled in Point Boro's fourth run with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth and junior right-hander Wyatt Dewysockie went the distance to secure the win.
