Class A North Player of the Week

Patrick O’Dwyer, Long Branch

All O’Dwyer did this past week was score nine goals in three games to help Long Branch position itself to qualify for the Shore Conference Tournament with one more win this week. Class B South Honorable Mention: Logan Duffy, Manchester; Brett Lechinski, Point Boro; Steve Redler, Point Boro; James Cahill, Pinelands

Wild Cards

Danny Minze, Middletown South

A North was loaded with great performances last week so while Minze is not the overall Player of the Week from that division, he was probably the second-best performer in the entire Shore Conference last week. The senior forward scored an incredible goal in literally the last second of regulation to give the Eagles a thrilling 2-1 win over Middletown North on Monday. Minze followed that up by assisting the equalizer in a 2-2 tie vs. Manalapan and scoring two goal and an assist in a 3-3 tie vs. Manasquan to cap his huge week.

Zach Orrico, Freehold Township

Orrico is another A North standout who deserves some love after a great week. He started out by scoring early against Rumson before the Patriots ultimately lost that game, 2-1. Orrico then assisted Adam Havens’s game-winner in a big 1-0 win over Marlboro. The junior forward then scored a goal and assisted another in a 3-1 win over Long Branch and capped his week with both goals in a 2-0 win over Allentown.
