WALL TWP. - The last time the Wall boys soccer team played a team with a winning record before Monday was on Sept. 6, when the Crimson Knights lost to Freehold Boro in their opening game of the season.

Six consecutive wins later, Wall got another shot against a Top 10 team at the Shore Monday and delivered in dramatic fashion.

Senior Johnny Volpe scored the golden goal in the 16th minute of overtime and Wall defeated Manasquan - the No. 10 team in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 - by a 1-0 score for its seventh straight win. The result also snapped a four-game winning streak by the Warriors.

Sophomore Sebastian Campanile saved eight shots in recording his fifth straight shutout.

The win is the second straight 1-0 win by Wall, which edged Marlboro with a late-second-half goal. Prior to the Marlboro win, Wall had won five straight games by a goal-margin of at least two.
