Last year, the Brick boys basketball program took a key step in its rebuilding process by qualifying for the Shore Conference Tournament for the first time in 10 years. Now, the expectations are raised and the Green Dragons will hit the postseason this week hoping to build on what is currently a 13-win season.

Brick beefed up its record with a season-best six-game winning streak and the tail end of that run earned the Green Dragons the Shore Sports Network Army Strong Team of the Week for Week Six.

The week began on Jan. 31 with a 74-66 win over Toms River East, led by double-doubles from both sophomore Shane Williams (19 points and 11 rebounds) and senior Noah Buono (17 points and 10 rebounds).

Williams starred again on Feb. 2, when the Green Dragons beat Keansburg, 78-52, in a non-divisional win. The sophomore poured in a career-high 35 points while Buono netted 19 to back up his teammate.

Brick wrapped up a 3-0 week with a hard-fought 56-55 win over Toms River South, which had upset Central Regional earlier in the week. Williams once again led Brick with 18 points while senior Anthony DeStefano added 16 and Buono scored 14.
