Mark Costanzo went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs and Matt Granato contributed at the plate and on the mound to lead the Colonials (5-6, 4-5) over the rival Patriots (5-5, 4-4).

Granato went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI at the plate and also threw three scoreless innings of relief to save the win for Dominic Nonnamacher.

Nick Aiello also drove in a run in a 1-for-4 effort at the plate and Phil Marcantonio went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Ryan Ford went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs and Brandon Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI for Freehold Township. Ford gave up five runs in three innings and 65 pitches in taking the loss.

 

Howell 2, No. 5 Marlboro 1

Bryan Bernard pitched the first seven-inning complete game by a Howell pitcher since 2016 and the Rebels (7-5, 5-4) edged the Mustangs (6-5, 4-5) in a pitcher's duel after playing a stretch of high-scoring games.

Bernard allowed five hits and four walks while striking out seven on 107 pitches.

Jack Bearse drove in the winning run with a two-out RBI single in the top of the sixth inning. Eddie Morales and Kyle Brex each added a double and Morales also scored a run.

Joe Lomangino struck out nine in 4 2/3 innings for Marlboro and Zach DeRosa took the loss in relief.

 

Class A Central

Red Bank 3, Holmdel 2

Max Stamer pitched a complete-game four-hitter and went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bucs (4-5, 3-5) past the Hornets (2-8, 1-6). Stamer walked three and struck out one while throwing 99 pitches.

Aidan Kelly was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Red Bank.

Alex DiBona went 1-for-3 with an RBI and Ron Shangle was 2-for-2 for Holmdel.

A.J. Mandell went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI to lead the Rams (4-5, 3-4) to a hard-fought win over the Mustangs (4-7, 0-6). Marcos Matias was 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Joe Colonna and Austin Pharo each finished 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Mike Schiatarella allowed five runs on nine hits with no walks and two strikeouts on 77 pitches to pick up the win.

T.J. Rosace was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Brick Memorial, while Mike Sullivan and Joe Casselli each went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Sullivan's hit was a double and Graham Harrigan tripled and scored a run for the Mustangs.

Trevor Sherman threw 77 pitches over five innings in taking the loss.

Junior Trey Dombroski took lost a no-hitter in the bottom of the seventh inning but still fired a one-hit shutout on 84 pitches to pitch the Crimson Knights (11-1, 9-0) past the Eagles (6-5, 4-5). Dombroski has now pitched seven innings in each of his four starts this year and has not allowed more than two hits in any of them.

Sean Nocera accounted for the only RBI in the game and finished 1-for-2, while John Volpe was 1-for-2 with a run scored. Grant Shulman also went 2-for-3 with a double and and Tanner Powers also doubled for Wall.

Rob Zega broke up Dombroski's no-hit bid with an infield single in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Danny Minze suffered the hard-luck loss, allowing one earned run on two hits and four walks while striking out one and throwing 99 pitches.

 

Middletown North 6, Manasquan 5

Freshman Danny Frontera singled home Mike Adamson with the game-winning run to cap a six-run seventh for Middletown North and the Lions edged the Warriors for their second straight B North win after losing their first seven.

Manasquan left-hander Tim McEneny took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and a shutout into the seventh before running into trouble.

Keansburg 13, Ranney 3 (5 Innings)

Five Keansburg players had multiple hits and combined for 10 RBI to lead the Titans (6-4, 5-3) to a win over the Panthers (6-5, 5-3). Gabe Torres was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI, while Joe Osterbye, Liam Riecks and Liam Meyer all went 3-for-4. Meyer doubled, drove in three and scored three, Riecks doubled and drove in one and Osterbye also drove in one while also scored three.

Thomas McKeon also went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Keansburg.

Riecks also threw 102 pitches over five innings to earn the complete-game win. He allowed three hits and five walks while striking out four.

Ryan Batista was 1-for-2 with an RBI to lead Ranney.
