Senior Will Calderone pitched a five-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and the Spartans (6-1) rolled to a win in their first game during their trip to Myrtle Beach.

Calderone walked just one and navigated his way through seven innings on 98 pitches while improving his record to 3-0 for the season.

Junior Shane Garrett went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and freshman Ben Robinson went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the offense. Freshman Connor Tongring also went 2-for-3 with a double and senior Jack Zabarsky was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI in the win.
