Each week, Shore Sports Network selects the top players in each Shore Conference girls soccer division and gives the Shore Conference fans a chance to vote for their pick as the overall Thrive Player of the Week.

Below are the Players of the Week from each of the six Shore Conference divisions, as well as two wild cards to push the list of nominees to eight players. Vote for the top performer on the poll at the bottom of the post and come back every hour to vote again. The poll closes Thursday at 10 p.m. and the winner will receive a shirt and a free training session, courtesy of Thrive.

 

Shore Sports Network Week 6 Divisional Players of Week

Class A North 

Allie Greco, SR., Middletown South - Greco made big save after big save in the Shore Conference semifinals and finals to help Middletown South win the title. In the semifinals, Greco posted a shutout against Central Regional, who was the No. 1 team in the Shore Conference at the time. Greco was tested throughout the second half and kept Central scoreless for the first time this season. Similar to the semifinals, Greco kept Howell from scoring the go-ahead goal in the second half of the finals. 

 

Class A Central

Brigid Hatton, JR., Raritan - Hatton posted a shutout against Monmouth Regional to help Raritan win their second game of the season. After the Rockets scored in the first half, Hatton made several saves to close out the game and hold on to the 1-0 lead. 

 

Class A South

Desirae Majett, SR., Brick - Majett had three goals and an assist last week to help Brick Township earn two non-divisional wins. Majett scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Freehold Boro to open up the week for the Dragons. She followed that with a goal and an assist against Red Bank Regional in a 3-2 victory for Brick. 

 

Class B North

Lily Wood, JR., Trinity Hall - Wood started the week scoring the game-winning goal in the second half against Toms River East. She scored her second goal of the week, which ended up being the game-winner, against Edison in a 3-0 victory. 

 

Class B Central

A’layah Vincent, SR., Long Branch -  Vincent posted back-to-back shutouts last week to help Long Branch win its third and fourth game of the season. She opened the week by blanking Ranney, who defeated Long Branch two weeks prior, 2-1. Later in the week, Vincent made double-digit saves to shutout Pinelands 2-0. 

 

Class B South

Natalie McGovern, JR., Lacey - McGovern scored two goals in the week, giving her 17 on the season. She scored the game-winner in overtime against Jackson Memorial and had a goal against Toms River North. 

 

Wild Cards

Jayme Malanda, JR., Middletown North - Malanda scored four goals and had two assists last week while leading Middletown North to the Shore Coaches Cup title. In the quarterfinals, she had two goals and an assist against St. Rose. In the semifinals she scored a goal and had an assist against No. 2 seed Ocean in a 4-0 victory. Malanda ended the week with the game-winning goal against St. John Vianney in the championship game. 

Iva Carton, SR., Red Bank Catholic - Carton scored the opening goal for the Caseys against Marlboro this week. When Marlboro tied the game in the second half, Carton struck again, scoring the game-winner.
