The football season is underway, and even though it wasn't a full schedule of action during Week 0, there were still some great performances to kickoff the year.

Now it’s time to get your vote in for who had the top performance in the Shore this weekend to choose the Orthopaedic Institute of Central Jersey/Shore Sports Network Player of the Week. The winner will be announced on Wednesday right here on ShoreSportsNetwork.com. Voting will end Tuesday at midnight.

Player of the Week nominees for Week 0

Jermaine Corbett, So., RB, Long Branch: 20 carries for 164 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-14 win vs. Hammonton.

Gino Tartamella, Sr., DE, Red Bank Catholic: Tartamella recorded eight tackles, one sacks, one tackle for a loss and two hurries as the Caseys' defense allowed only one touchdown in a 41-14 win over St. John Vianney. The win by RBC snapped the Lancers' 38-game Shore Conference winning streak.

David Szuba, So., DE/T.J. McArthur, So., LB, Brick Memorial: The Mustangs sophomore duo led the way as Brick Memorial shut out Central, 49-0, and allowed just 39 yards of offense. Szuba made nine tackles and recovered a fumble and McArthur had 10 tackles.

Chase Granit, So., RB, Lacey: Granit's varsity debut of 150 yards rushing on 25 carries helped the Lions edge Ocean, 14-12, for a nondivisional road win.

Clarence Lewis, Jr., WR, Mater Dei: Lewis had an 82-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 17-yard touchdown catch as the Seraphs cruised to a 41-8 win over Pinelands.
