For Manasquan, 11th-year head coach J. Price and senior wide receiver/defensive back Cole Kozlowski will talk Manasquan football. The Warriors head in ranked ninth in the latest The Jeep Store/Shore Sports Network Top 10 after a thrilling 35-30 victory over former Thanksgiving rival Point Boro that handed the Panthers their first loss of the season, Kozlowski had a big game with three catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, including a 77-yard reception that set up another touchdown.

Manasquan's offense is averaging over 30 points a game and has helped guide the Warriors to a 5-2 record through their first seven games. Junior quarterback Brett Patten has emerged as one of the Shore's top quarterbacks with 1,122 yards passing and 16 touchdowns with just three interceptions, plus six rushing touchdowns. Manasquan has a plethora of offensive playmakers with Kozlowski having caught 30 passes for 467 yards and four touchdowns and senior wide receiver Robert Pendergist posting 19 receptions for 371 yards and five touchdowns. On the ground, senior running back Patrick Woodford has 328 yards rushing and two touchdowns (plus two receiving TDs) and junior running back Jhamier Howard has 306 yards rushing and four touchdowns along with three touchdown receptions.

Defensively, twin brothers Jack and Ryan Burns are Manasquan's leading tacklers. Jack Burns also has a team-high three sacks along with three tackles for loss. Senior defensive tackle JJ Cavanagh has a team-leading five tackles for loss, junior linebacker Cael Driscoll has four tackles for loss, and Woodford and Kozlowski each have two interceptions. Additionally, junior Jack Dettlinger has been one of the more reliable kickers in the Shore with 27 of 29 extra points converted plus two field goals.

Manasquan will host Asbury Park (4-3) on Saturday afternoon at Vic Kubu Warrior Field where it will try to continue its push for a top-two seed in the state playoffs.

Red Bank Catholic will be represented by head coach Mike Lange and senior tight end/defensive end Alex Bauman. The Caseys are one of just two undefeated teams in the Shore (along with Long Branch) and improved to 8-0 last week with a resounding 47-7 victory over Manalapan. Senior quarterback Alex Brown had another big game with three passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown, Bauman had two touchdown catches, and junior running back Torin Harmon ran for 138 yards and a touchdown to lead the way.

On the season, Brown has thrown for 1,258 yards and 14 touchdowns with just two interceptions while completing 67 percent of his throws for an offense that is averaging 36.6 points per game. He has also rushed for 262 yards and four touchdowns. Junior wide receiver Najih Rahman has a team-high 29 catches for 470 yards and three touchdowns and Bauman has 21 catches for 385 yards and six touchdowns. The Caseys' multi-back rushing attack has produced 1,808 yards and 24 touchdowns for an average of 226 yards per game. Junior tailback Sabino Portella has a team-high 648 yards rushing and nine touchdowns, senior Rajahn Cooper has 316 yards and four touchdowns and Harmon has 316 yards and two touchdowns on just 26 carries.

RBC also boasts arguably the Shore's top defense and is allowing just 7.1 points per game. Bauman has been outstanding from his defensive end spot with 46 tackles, 5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble. Sophomore linebacker Davin Brewton has a team-leading 63 tackles along with nine tackles for loss and two sacks, senior defensive end Ryan McPherson has three sacks and nine tackles for loss, senior Connor Wanagiel also has three sacks, and Aidan Donohue has two sacks. Senior cornerback Joe Diorio leads the Caseys with two interceptions.

On Friday night at Count Basie Field, the top-ranked Caseys will host No. 3 Donovan Catholic in a marquee game that could have major implications for the SSN Top 10. RBC is also currently in line for the No. 1 seed in the Non-Public B state playoffs.
