Red Bank junior Kevin Ruland advanced to the quarterfinals as the No. 24 seed and Howell freshman Tanner Hodgins showcased his skills and smarts to upset the No. 6 seed and reach the quarterfinals on Thursday at Boardwalk Hall.
Rumson-Fair Haven won the first seven bouts and blew out Jefferson, 60-15, to win the NJSIAA Group 2 championship for the first state title in program history.
Rumson executed 11 pins Wednesday night vs. Point Boro, including in each of the last nine bouts to capture the program's first ever NJSIAA sectional championship.
