Shore Conference Tournament, Second Round

(16) Rumson-Fair Haven 0, (1) Southern 2 (25-14, 25-19)

Emily Brunatti solidified herself as one of the main playmakers as she's done all season long for Southern Regional (23-2), leading the way with 13 digs in a two-set victory. Molly Regulski led the Rams with 11 assists while Jordyn Hamlin added 12 kills, a game-high, in the victory. Catherine Caulfield led the Bulldogs (10-9) with 10 assists.

(9) Raritan 0, (8) Middletown South 2 (29-27, 25-15)

The first set of Raritan-Midd.South was unlike many other sets to take place this season. As the Eagles were down 22-18 at a point, they came back to take a 24-22 lead before the Rockets got back in front. The Eagles pulled away for the first set as Karolyna Bojko and Cameron Kapler dominated all sides of the court in the second set. The win marks the programs first win in the SCT since their beginning in 2019. (Check back later on for full recap and box score.)

(12) Toms River East 1, (5) Barnegat 2 (22-25, 25-15, 25-12)

The Bengals (18-3) had to dig deep and overcome being a set down against Toms River East (10-10) to take the victory in the round of 16. Brooke Degrazio had a strong performance for the Bengals, leading all with 20 digs. Annabella Fraim continued her strong rate of play with with 18 assists. Ava Casales led the Raiders with 17 assists in the loss. Barnegat will take on No. 13 Marlboro in the quarterfinals.

(13) Marlboro 2, (4) Howell 1 (25-21, 24-26, 25-17)

The Mustangs (11-7) pulled off the upset of the Shore Conference Tournament thusfar, taking down Howell (16-3) in three sets. Cece Marino was the leader that she's been all year for Marlboro, having a game-high 26 assists while adding 12 digs in the win. Marlboro will be on the road to face No. 5 Barnegat in the quarterfinals.

(14) Central Regional 0, (3) St. John Vianney 2 (25-12, 25-22)

Freshman Ayana Warren ultimately was the deciding factor in the Lancers (18-4) two-set victory over the Golden Eagles (11-8). Warren led all with a barrage of assists, leading the way with 23 and making her season total stand out at 427. The Lancers will take on No. 6 Jackson Liberty in the quarterfinals.

(11) Red Bank Catholic 1, (6) Jackson Liberty 2 (25-21, 23-25, 25-18)

It was a dogfight until the very end, but the Lions (14-5) were able to pull through against the Caseys (12-8) in three sets. Grace Chiafullo had a team-high 17 kills for the Lions while Stella Harzold added 13 kills and 13 digs in the win. Olivia Luhn had a game-high 27 assists for the Lions as Steph Ramos led all with 17 digs. Jackson Liberty will go on the road and face No. 3 St. John Vianney in the quarterfinals.

(10) Brick Memorial 0, (7) Pinelands 2 (25-13, 25-13)

The Wildcats (14-9) ensured a spot into the quarterfinals after a two-set victory over the Mustangs (13-7). Olivia Shertenlieb surpassed 450 assists in the season, picking up a game-high 20 assists in the victory. The Wildcats will be facing No. 2 Donovan Catholic in the quarterfinals.

(15) Point Pleasant Beach 0, (2) Donovan Catholic 2 (25-9, 25-8)

Non-Divisional

Jackson Memorial 1, Lacey 2 (22-25, 25-20, 25-19)

It was another massive day for Lacey's (9-11) Shayla Haemmerle as she had an astounding 29 digs in the three-set victory. Nicolina Saccomanno continued her strong 2023 with a team-high 15 kills while adding 11 digs in the win.

Manchester Township 1, Brick Township 2 (20-25, 25-13, 25-20)

Abby Anfuso had a huge game for the Dragons (5-14), leading the team with 14 digs in the two-set victory over the Hawks (3-14). Marissa Witter had a game-high 21 assists for the Dragons in the win.

Lakewood 2, Long Branch 0 (25-19, 25-12)

Nathalie Arguedas had a huge day for the Piners (6-14), leading all with 17 digs in the two-set victory. Sarah Pratt had a team-high 16 assists in the win for Lakewood.
