Surf Taco Girls Volleyball NJSIAA Tuesday Scoreboard, Oct. 31
NJSIAA Tournament, Quarterfinal Round, Central Jersey, Group 3
5-Brick Memorial 2, 4-Northern Burlington 1 (25-19, 20-25, 25-23)
The Mustangs (17-7) played road warriors and took a three-set victory over Northern Burlington (14-12). The Mustangs were led by Isabella McKelvey, leading with 24 assists, 10 service points, 5 aces, 4 digs and 3 blocks. Emily Fitzgerald led all with 11 kills in the win.
9-Colts Neck 0, 1-Princeton 2 (25-7, 25-15)
Naomi Lygas stole the show for Princeton (26-1), having 12 kills to lead all in the straight set victory over Colts Neck (11-13). Lois Matsukawa had a game-high 16 assists in the win for Princeton.
NJSIAA Tournament, Quarterfinal Round, South Jersey, Group 3
9-Toms River South 0, 1-Mainland 2 (25-11, 25-21)
Sadie Kent had a game-high 19 assists and 7 service points for Mainland (11-7), moving them into the SJG3 sectional semifinals.
5-Toms River East 2, 4-Hammonton 1 (12-25, 25-10, 25-22)
The Raiders (12-10) had to claw back being down an early set, taking control over Hammonton (16-5) to pull off the upset in the SJG3 quarterfinals. Ava Casales had a ridiculous game for the Raiders, leading all with 32 assists and adding 16 digs in the win. Darlyn Neyra led the team in both digs and kills with 28 and 15.
7-Lacey 0, 2-Pinelands 2 (25-12, 25-18)
Pinelands (16-10) moved to their second straight sectional semifinal after their two-set victory over Lacey (11-13). Olivia Shertenlieb had a monster game for the Wildcats, leading all with 18 assists. Jill Becker had a team-high 10 digs in the win for Pinelands.
NJSIAA Tournament, Quarterfinal Round, South Jersey, Group 4
9-Cherokee 0, 1-Southern 2 (25-15, 25-11)
Ava Pirrello had a field day for the Rams (28-2), leading all with 15 service points while adding 8 digs in the two-set victory. Molly Regulski continued to be the assist machine she’s been all season long, leading with a team-high 18 assists. Jordyn Hamlin led all with 11 kills while adding 7 digs in the win for Southern Regional. The Rams will go to their second consecutive sectional semifinal with their opponent being Lenape.
