5-St. John Vianney 0, 4-Union Catholic 2 (23-17, 25-23)

The strong campaign of the 2023 Lancers (20-6) came to a conclusion as Union Catholic (21-6) took the quarterfinal matchup in straight sets. Ryan Garcia led all for Union Catholic with 10 digs and 8 service points.

7-Notre Dame (17-6) 1, 2-Donovan Catholic 2 (25-12, 22-25, 25-20)

The Griffins (27-3) were able to survive a three-set marathon against a strong Notre Dame (17-7) program and move into the Non-Public A semifinals. Elizabeth Kavanaugh had a masterclass of a performance for the Griffins, leading the way with 26 assists and 7 digs. Daniella Tischio added 12 digs in the win. Shantel Starling led all with 19 kills and 16 digs, another strong performance by the senior. Macayla Lindner added 10 digs and 7 kills in the victory. Lindner reached 400 career kills in today’s contest while Starling broke the Griffins single season record with 287. Starling also broke the school record with most in a game. Donovan Catholic will host Paul VI on Wednesday in the semifinals.
