Surf Taco Girls Volleyball NJSIAA Friday Schedule, Nov. 3rd
NJSIAA Tournament, Semifinal Round, Central Jersey, Group 2
11- Cranford 0, 2-Raritan 2 (26-24, 25-16)
The Rockets (14-7) had to fight from being down 24-21 in the first set to take over and defeat Cranford (6-15) in back-to-back sets. Alexis Amoedo led the way for Raritan, contributing with a team-high 8 assists while adding 4 digs and 2 kills. Sophie Papagiannakis led the Rockets with 9 digs while adding 7 assists in the victory. Raritan will travel to No. 1 Governor Livingston on Tuesday at a chance at the CJG2 sectional title.
NJSIAA Tournament, Semifinal Round, South Jersey, Group 1
5-Keyport 0, 1-Point Beach 2 (25-10, 25-21)
The Garnet Gulls (16-12) were able to beat their fellow divisional rival in Keyport (14-10) to make it to the SJG1 sectional finals, winning in straight sets. Molly Huvane led the Garnet Gulls with 17 assists. Celia Frizzell had a huge game, delivering with a team-high 17 service points and 4 kills in the victory. Point Beach will take on Delaware Valley at home on Tuesday for the SJG1 sectional title.
NJSIAA Tournament, Semifinal Round, South Jersey, Group 2
4-Collingswood 0, 1-Barnegat 2 (25-19, 25-5)
The Bengals (21-4) were able to use a battle-tested first set to dominate the second set of the match, advancing to their second sectional title appearance in three years. Annabella Fraim had a monster game, leading the way with 16 assists while adding 5 digs and 4 service points in the victory. Isabella Pavan led all with 10 service points for the Bengals in the win. The Bengals had 16 aces over the span of the two-set match, helping bring them one step closer to a state championship. The Bengals will take on No. 2 Pleasantville in the SJG2 sectional finals on Tuesday.
2-Plesantville 2, 3-Jackson Liberty 0 (25-18, 25-10)
