Freehold Township jumped on top with a goal by senior Herman Colbert in the 21st minute off a pass from senior Logan Mullaney. Howell equalized in the 60th when senior Kris Maza slipped into the box and scored his team's lone goal.

Freehold Township will host No. 10 Holmdel in Saturday's quarterfinal round.

(4) Manalapan 1, (13) Ocean 1 - Manalapan advances on penalties, 4-3

Sophomore goalkeeper Matteo Paolillo saved two shots during the shootout and junior Jacob Hyams converted the winning kick to send the Braves (7-3-4) past the Spartans (10-4-2) and into the SCT quarterfinals Saturday against No. 5 Marlboro.

Ocean converted its first two attempts in the round of penalties before Paolillo stepped up to save consecutive shots and set up the clincher by Hyams.

Senior Jimmy Bruno staked Manalapan to a 1-0 lead on a goal in the middle of the first half, with classmate Jonah Ortega setting him up.

Ocean tied it in the second half, when senior Brian Miranda's long free kick found the back of the net.

(10) Holmdel 2, (7) Lacey 1 (OT)

Senior Brendan Worobel scored the golden goal in overtime to spoil a dramatic equalizer by Lacey, sending the Hornets (9-4) past the Lions (13-1-1) and into the SCT quarterfinals.

Lacey senior Bryan Cardoso headed in a corner kick from senior Jack Costa as time expired in regulation to send the Lions -- who entered Wednesday the Shore's final remaining unbeaten team -- into a frenzy leading into extra time.

The celebration, however, was short-lived, with Worobel pouncing on a turnover in the back and sliding the ball inside the far right post for his second goal of the game.

Worobel struck in the 21st minute for Holmdel, which will travel to play No. 2 Freehold Township in Saturday's quarterfinal round.

(5) Marlboro 0, (12) Monmouth 0 - Marlboro advances on penalties, 4-2

Senior goalkeeper Nick Tango saved a shot in the round of penalties and senior Alex Fischler converted the deciding kick to send the Mustangs (7-5-1) past the Falcons (8-4-4) and into the SCT quarterfinals Saturday at No. 4 Manalapan.

Junior Evan Torillo, senior Max Rosen and senior Ben Rothman each made their penalty kicks in the shootout for Marlboro.

(9) Wall 3, (8) Rumson-Fair Haven 0

Seniors Emmett Aravich and Dan Burns scored within three minutes of one another near the end of the first half and senior Kyle Horowitz carved through the Rumson defense for a third Wall goal in a Crimson Knights (9-3-2) win over the Bulldogs (8-4-2).

With the win, Wall avenged a 5-1 stomping at the hands of Rumson on Oct. 2 while advancing to the Shore Conference Tournament quarterfinal Saturday at top-seeded CBA.

Aravich broke the ice in the 33rd minute off a pass from senior Matt Murphy and Burns finished a pass from classmate Terrence Byrnes in the 36th to send Wall into the half with a two-goal lead.

(6) Long Branch 4, (22) St. Rose 0

Junior Kayk Moreira opened the floodgates with a goal in the 55th minute and the Green Wave (11-5-1) broke open a close game to beat the Purple Roses (5-6-1) and reach the SCT quarterfinals Saturday.

Senior Eduardo Ribiero assisted Moreira's goal and scored the fourth Long Branch goal, which came in the 75th minute off a pass from junior Jeremy Hernandez.

Junior Chris Lopez extended the lead to 2-0 in the 60th off a pass from senior Davenson JoinVilmar and junior Anthony Vasquez scored to make it 3-0 in the 67th.

Brown scored Toms River North's first two goals, with senior Nico Gonzalez setting him up in the 10th minute and Emnace assisting the second goal by Brown in the 16th.

Senior Mattia Assante assisted goals by senior David Anderson and Emnace early in the second half, then scored in the 52nd off a pass from Anderson to make it 5-1.

Emnace's second goal made it 6-1 in the 57th and Michael Cumer capped the scoring in the 79th.
