Lacey 15, Brick 3

Sophomore attackman Corey Smith and freshman attackmen Ryan Gleason and Braedyn Gialanella all had big games to power the Lions (9-9) to an emphatic victory over the Dragons (5-12).

Smith tallied four goals and four assists, Gialanella delivered three goals and four assists, and Gleason totaled four goals and one assist. Senior midfielder Diego Wolf added two goals and one assist, senior midfielder Chris Grassadonio had a goal and an assist, senior midfielder Jayden Martins scored once, and senior goalie Chad Moore made 10 saves.

 

Barnegat 17, St. John Vianney 7

Sophomore midfielder Luke Tortorici scored a career-high five goals and added three assists while freshman Keegan Dunn tallied four goals and two assists to lead the Bengals (13-4) to a runaway victory over the Lancers (8-10).

Sophomore attackman Jakob Jason scored three goals and added two assists. Senior attackman/midfielder Seth Freiwald had two goals and one assist and sophomore midfielder/attackman Bailey Carroll had a goal and two assists. Senior Robert Sawicki and sophomore Stephen Griffin scored one goal each.

Senior Ian Butler scored five goals and junior goalie Jack Lupo made a career-high 25 saves for St. John Vianney. Junior William Keegan added a goal and three assists, sophomore Brendan Allen scored once, and freshman FOGO Max Menkowitz won 24 of 28 to continue his superb season at the face-off X.

 

Middletown North 14, Toms River South 4

Mike Kelly recorded his first two career points in his second career start to help the Lions (7-7) overcome the Indians (4-12) and even their season record.

Brady Derome scored twice, Nicholas Romaine and Ben Hartzfeld had one goal each, and Nicholas Mueller made 11 saves for Toms River South.

 

 

Nonconference

No. 10 Red Bank Catholic 7, Watchung Hills 5

Senior midfielder Torin Harmon scored four goals and senior goalie Christian Schrader made 15 saves as the Caseys (9-7) scored twice in the fourth quarter to pull ahead and defeat the Warriors (6-9).

The game was tied 3-3 after the first quarter and 5-5 at halftime and through the third quarter.

Senior midfielder Sam Fertal, junior attackman Peter Villare, and sophomore attackman Leo Cosimano each scored once for RBC. Junior midfielder Brian Vecchio won 10 of 16 face-offs and senior defenseman Nick Cosimano picked up 12 ground balls.

 

Donovan Catholic 14, North Brunswick 5

Attackman Jake Kerwin delivered three goals and two assists and junior midfielders Andrew Baltus and Evan Roeber registered three goals and one assist each to send the Griffins (10-6) past the Raiders (8-8) and give the program 10 wins in a season for the first time in at least 12 years.

Sophomore midfielder Teague Hibbard sank two goals with one assist and junior attackman Jack Farlekas had one goal and two assists. Sophomore midfielder Lucas Bova added a goal and an assist, sophomore LSM Michael Poskay scored once, and senior defenseman Peyton Calvetto had two assists. Senior goalie Dom Rocci Ciniglio made six saves and senior midfielder Nick Karchik won 11 of 14 face-offs.

 

Brick Memorial 14, Edison 5

Freshman attackman Jack D'Eufemia scored five goals and added one assist and freshman attackman Nick Correia totaled three goals and five assists to send the Mustangs (6-11) on their way to a victory over the Eagles (6-10).

Freshman midfielder Trey Tallmadge scored three goals and added one assist. Senior defenseman Josh James, senior attackman/midfielder Michael Occhiogrosso, and senior midfielder Matt Cohrs scored one goal apiece. Senior FOGO Christian Valanzola won 12 of 23 face-offs and dished out two assists, sophomore midfielder AJ Ehrmantraut picked up a game-high nine ground balls, and sophomore goalie Matt Hillin made eight saves.
