No. 8 Holmdel 19, Jackson Memorial 7

Senior attackman Kyle Kapcsos, junior midfielder Will Gilfillan, and freshman attackman Finn Buchan combined for 20 points as the Hornets (15-4) defeated the Jaguars (10-5) to continue the best season in program history.

Gilfillan delivered four goals and three assists, Kapcsos registered two goals and five assists, and Buchan led all players with a game-high six goals. Sophomore FOGO Jack Powers won 24 of 29 at the face-off X and senior goalie Andrew Arredondo made five saves. Junior midfielder Gary Collyer scored three times, sophomore attackman Brian Volpe had two goals and one assist, and senior attackman Dylan Lagana contributed a goal and an assist. Junior midfielder Greg Linsalata scored once and freshman midfielder Jack Cannon sent out three assists.

Junior attackman Drew Barocs scored three goals, freshman attackman Emanuel Jastrzebski tallied two goals and two assists, and junior goalie Russell Cender made 18 saves. Senior attackman Justin Perillo and junior midfielder Elias Craig each had a goal and two assists.

 

Brick Memorial 10, Marlboro 1

Senior midfielder Matt Cohrs totaled two goals, two assists, and 13 ground balls while freshman attackman Nick Correia also tallied two goals and two assists to send Brick Memorial (7-11) to a win over Marlboro (2-16).

Freshman midfielder Trey Tallmadge had two goals and one assist, freshman attackman Jack D'Eufemia scored twice, and senior Michael Occhiogrosso. Senior FOGO Christian Valanzola won 13 of 15 face-offs and picked up nine ground balls. Sophomore goalie Matt Hillin made 10 saves and freshman goalie Christian Murphy saw his first action of the season.

 

Nonconference

No. 6 Shore 6, Monroe 4

Junior attackman Carson Spallone notched three goals and one assist and senior goalie Walker Hunter made 14 saves to lead the Blue Devils (12-5) to a quality victory over the Falcons (14-4).

Senior midfielder Aidan Murphy had a goal and an assist, junior midfielder Sam Madalone and junior attackman Brady Cooke each scored once, and senior attackman Ben Levy had two assists.

The game was tied 2-2 after the first quarter before Shore scored the only two goals of the second quarter to forge a 4-2 halftime lead. Both teams had one goal apiece in each of the third and fourth quarters.

 

No. 10 Red Bank Catholic 7, Allentown 6

Senior midfielder Torin Harmon scored a game-high four goals and senior goalie Christian Schrader made 15 saves to lift the Caseys (10-7) to a thrilling victory over the Redbirds (12-7).

Junior attackman Peter Villare scored twice and senior midfielder Sam Fertal scored once.

 

Howell 13, East Brunswick 12 (OT)

Senior attackman Jack Marich scored four goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime, to lift the Rebels (10-9) to a dramatic win over the Bears (10-8-1) heading into the state tournament.

Senior attackman Nate Lorenzo delivered four goals and three assists and sophomore midfielder Nicholas Turturro also scored four goals. Senior goalie Brendan Breschard made 15 saves, sophomore midfielder Vincent Meehan tallied a goal and two assists, and junior midfielder Ian McDow had four assists.
