Rumson-Fair Haven 17, Holmdel 7

Senior midfielder Leo Passalaqua delivered four goals and two assists and sophomore attackman Luke Lydon scored four times as the Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) ran past the Hornets (2-1, 0-1) to continue their hot start to the a season.

Senior attackman Alastair Orr provided two goals and two assists, senior midfielder Andy Croddick scored twice, junior midfielder Grayson Goldin had a goal and two assists, and senior FOGO Luke Marascio went 18-for-27 at the X and also scored a goal. Junior goalie Mickey Walker made four saves and freshman goalie Seamus Gorman made two saves in his varsity debut. Junior Britt Lumsden and seniors Griffin Kolb and Jake Cahill added one goal each.

Senior midfielder Will Gilfillan had three goals and three assists and sophomore goalie Jack Tiller made 13 saves for Holmdel. Finn Buchan, Gary Collyer, Brian Volpe, and Jack Cannon each scored once.

 

Shore 9, Red Bank 8 (OT)

Junior Lukas Villa sank the game-winning goal on a man-up strike in overtime to lift the Blue Devils (2-1, 1-1) to a dramatic victory over the Bucs (2-2, 0-2).

During the overtime period, Shore requested a stick check on a Red Bank player and it was determined that the stick in question was illegal, giving the Blue Devils an extra-man opportunity during which Villa scored the winning goal.

Villa finished with a goal and two assists while sophomore Reid Spallone tallied a team-high three goals and three assists and senior Brady Cook had three goals and one assist. Senior goalie Noah Karaban made nine saves, senior Carson Spallone had a goal and an assist, junior midfielder Tucker Malfa scored once, and junior FOGO Brendan O'Brien went 13-for-21 at the X.

Sophomore attackman Gabe Pape scored a game-high five goals and added one assist and senior Kyle Borenius made an astounding 24 saves to lead Red Bank. Senior midfielder Andrew Pape had a goal and two assists and junior attackman Jack Tavares and freshman Justin Valentino each scored once.
