Toms River East 14, Toms River South 3

Senior midfielder Luke Barber sank five goals and added three assists and sophomore midfielder Nate Cummings tallied three goals and four assists to power the Raiders (4-1, 3-1) to a victory over the rival Indians (1-6, 1-3).

Freshman attackman/midfielder Nicholas Caruso (3g, 1a) and senior attackman Maxson Huttemann also scored three times. Additionally, Barber won 12 of 18 face-offs and picked up 18 ground balls. Senior goalie Lester Cook made nine saves in goal to earn the win.

Sophomore Ben Hartzfeld scored twice, junior Dennis Forbes scored once, and sophomore goalie Nicholas Mueller made six saves for Toms River South.

 

Nondivisional

Donovan Catholic 11, Brick Memorial 5

Sophomore attackman Jake Kerwin totaled five points on a goal and four assists while junior attackman Jack Farlekas and freshman midfielder Emanuel Gerena each supplied three goals and one assist to lead the way for the Griffins (3-1) in their win over the Mustangs (1-4).

Teague Hibbard added two goals and one assist, Sonny Vanesko had a goal and an assist, and David Wentworth scored once. Andrew Baltus won 10 of 16 face-offs and assisted on one goal and Dom Rocco Ciniglio made five saves.

Matt Cohrs scored three goals and Nick Correia had a goal and three assists for Brick Memorial. Mike Occhiogrosso scored once and Matt Hillin made 13 saves.

 

Nonconference

Seton Hall Prep 10, No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 5

Senior attackman/midfielder Cole Cashion scored two goals and one assist and senior Will Setteducate made seven saves, but the Bulldogs (5-2) fell behind 4-0 after the first quarter as the Pirates (7-0) used a fast start to win a showdown between top-5 teams in New Jersey.

Seton Hall Prep is ranked No. 2 by NJ.com and Rumson is ranked No. 5.

Luke Knezovic struck for three goals in the first quarter as Seton Hall opened a 4-0 lead and stretched that advantage to 5-2 at halftime. Rumson closed the gap to 6-4 on goals by Leo Passalaqua and defenseman Beau Kemler in the third quarter but Seton Hall closed with four goals in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Passalaqua, Kemler, and Andy Croddick each scored once for RFH. Knezovic led Seton Hall with four goals and one assist, Nolan Sabel had a goal and two assist, and Christian Schweiger scored twice.
