No. 7 Holmdel 16, Colts Neck 4

Junior midfielders Garry Collyer and Will Gilfillan combined for 14 points and sophomore FOGO Jack Powers dominated the face-off X to send the Hornets (6-2) past the Cougars (1-7).

Collyer sank four goals and added three assists and Gilfillan scored three goals and dished out four assists to lead Holmdel's offense. Powers won 15 of 18 face-offs and picked up 12 ground balls. Freshman attackman Finnegan Buchan had two goals and two assists, senior attackman Kyle Kapcsos recorded a hat trick, and senior attackman Dylan Lagana scored twice. Sophomores Brian Volpe and Rowen Blackmore had one goal apiece.

Senior goalie Andrew Arredondo made five saves to earn the win. Jack Tiller (3 saves), Casey Dowd (1 save), and Jack Doran also saw time in goal.

Sophomore Jayden Molina scored twice, senior pole Thomas Halmi recorded three assists and picked up 10 ground balls, and sophomore goalie James Turiano made 10 saves for Colts Neck. Sophomore Tyler Bowden and senior Sean Perkinson each scored once.

 

 

No. 9 Red Bank 18, Howell 7

Senior midfielder Henry Spencer had a seven-point game with four goals and three assists and senior midfielder Ryder Villani totaled four goals and one assist to lead the Bucs (7-1) to a victory over the Rebels (3-5).

Freshman attackman Gabe Pape had three goals and one assist and junior midfielder Andrew Pape tallied a goal and three assists. Jack Tavares had two goals and one assist, Ryan Deverin scored twice, and Trey Lynch had a goal and an assist. Sophomore Kevin Ruland won 19 of 27 face-offs and Quinn Niesz scored once.

Senior attackman Nate Lorenzo scored four goals for Howell to record his 100th career goal. Senior attackman Jack Marich had two goals and two assists and junior midfielder Ian McDow had a goal and an assist. Vincent Meehan won 8 of 12 face-offs and Brendan Breschard (5 saves) and Adam Baker (4 saves) shared time in goal.

 

No. 10 Barnegat 15, Marlboro 2

Sophomore midfielder Luke Tortorici posted three goals and five assists and senior attackman Seth Freiwald delivered five goals and one assist to power the Bengals (7-2) to a victory over the Mustangs (0-8).

Sophomore attackman Jakob Jason also had a big game with four goals and two assists. Bailey Carroll scored twice, Jason McHale had a goal and an assist, and senior goalie Lucas Holland made 10 saves.

Noah Gothelf and Sam Shapiro had one goal each and DJ Silvia made three saves for Marlboro.

 

Brick Memorial 7, Ocean 3

Freshman attackman Nick Correia scored three goals and one assist and sophomore goalie Matt Hillin made 20 saves to lead the Mustangs (2-6) to a victory over the Spartans (2-8).

Freshman attackman Jack D'Eufemia scored twice and senior midfielder Matt Cohrs had three assists. Freshman LSM Trey Tallmadge and junior midfielder Lucas Stickle had a goal and an assist each and senior FOGO Christian Valanzola won 11 of 13 face-offs and picked up six ground balls.

Junior midfielder Ben Girard, junior pole Willie Canavan, and freshman defenseman/midfielder Mickey McGovern had one goal each, and sophomore goalie Griffin Richard made eight saves for Ocean.

 

Jackson Liberty 15, Brick 2

Senior Reese Stewart tallied five goals and two assists and junior attackman Paul Capozzi scored five times to reach 100 career goals as the Lions (3-4) rolled to a victory over the Dragons (3-7).

Freshman Jeffery White added three goals and three assists, senior Peter Abline had a goal and an assist, and senior James Capucci scored once. Senior Connor D'Andrea won 15 of 20 face-offs, senior Sean Mazon had two assists, and junior goalie Matt LaBianca made five saves.

 

St. Rose 8, Toms River North 6

Senior attackman James Magrini totaled three goals and three assists and sophomore goalie Noah Arena made 15 saves to lead the Purple Roses (1-5) past the Mariners (2-5) for their first win of the season.

Senior Dan Bair had two goals and one assist, junior Ben Meyer scored twice, and senior LSM James Vitale had a goal and an assist. Senior midfielder Mike Conlon added two assists.

Senior attackman Nick Walano had two goals and one assist and senior goalie Evan Singer made 16 saves to lead Toms River North. Sophomore midfielder Cooper Lachowicz had a goal and an assist, senior pole Tim Beahm and sophomore middie Anthony Montalban had one goal each, and senior Ryan Marino won 7 of 11 face-offs.

 

Red Bank Catholic 17, Middletown North 3

Senior midfielder Torin Harmon recorded a game-high seven points with two goals and five assists and junior attackman Peter Villare scored a game-high five goals to power the Caseys (4-4) to a win over the Lions (4-3).

Junior midfielder Jackson Lu tallied three goals and three assists and senior midfielder Sam Fertal scored four goals and added one assist. Sophomore attackman Leo Cosimano had two goals and one assist, freshman attackman Frank Tackett scored once, and junior defenseman Connor Harms had three assists. Senior goalie Christian Schraeder (7 saves) and Gianvito Viola (1 save) shared time in goal.

 

Lacey 12, Toms River South 4

No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 10, Bridgewater-Raritan 7

Senior Cole Cashion scored three of his four goals in the fourth quarter and assisted on two other goals as the Bulldogs (6-3) rallied for a thrilling victory over the previously-unbeaten Panthers (7-1).

Andy Croddick delivered a hat trick, senior goalie Will Setteducate made seven saves, and Luke Marascio, defenseman Beau Kemler, and Leo Passalaqua each scored once.

Bridgewater-Raritan led 4-2 at halftime before Rumson stormed ahead with eight goals in the second half.

 

Westfield 8, No. 3 Wall 4

Wall raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on goals by Connor Moore, Pat Donohue, and John McCurry, but Westfield (4-3) rallied to down the Crimson Knights (5-3) in a matchup of state-ranked teams.

Westfield scored six straight goals spanning the second and third quarters to take a 6-3 lead. Shea Brennan cut the deficit to 6-4 heading to the fourth quarter but Westfield scored twice in the fourth quarter to put the game away.

Jack Meyer added two assists for Wall and Lucas Seelinger made eight saves.

 

Freehold Township 8, Hightstown 6

Senior midfielder Aidan Harrington scored four goals and sophomore goalie Junior Alvarado had a huge game with 21 saves as the Patriots (4-2) used three goals in the fourth quarter to defeat the Rams (2-6).

Freehold Township led 5-3 at halftime before Hightstown tied the score at five heading to the fourth quarter.

Senior midfielder Jaden Bulkley led all players with five points on three goals and two assists and junior attackman Nolan Thompson scored once.

Grant Vinson led Hightstown with three goals and one assist.
