The Shore Conference Executive Committee formally announced an exciting new media partnership with Shore Sports Network on Thursday involving Shore Conference Tournament events. The official release from the Shore Conference is below.

THE SHORE CONFERENCE OF HIGH SCHOOLS, A NEW JERSEY NON-PROFIT CORPORATION, ANNOUNCES MEDIA PARTNERSHIP

The Shore Conference of High Schools, a New Jersey non-profit corporation, has entered into a one-year “pilot program” which will allow Townsquare Media’s Shore Sports Network to serve as exclusive media partner for Shore Conference Tournament events.  The agreement will give the Shore Sports Network exclusive rights to create, distribute and license programming in connection with various Shore Conference-sponsored tournaments. In addition, the Shore Sports Network will serve as the media liaison between the tournament directors and ALL media covering those events to ensure a smooth working relationship and provide optimum coverage of the teams and athletes.

Shore Conference President Rusty Todd of Ocean Township High School said the agreement was the result of several meetings between officers of the Executive Committee and Kevin Williams, the Director of the Shore Sports Network, which includes the popular website www.shoresportsnetwork.com, a bi-monthly publication “Shore Sports Network Journal” and sports programming that airs on News Talk Radio WOBM 1160 & 1310 a.m.

“The Shore Conference is very excited to enter into this one-year pilot program with such a reputable group as Townsquare Media’s Shore Sports Network,'' Todd said. "Townsquare Media’s Shore Sports Network’s familiarity in Monmouth and Ocean County, as well with the Shore Conference, will serve our student-athletes well. We are hopeful that this partnership will streamline the media coverage, visibility and recognition of our deserving student-athletes.”

Williams, who has covered Shore-area sports for more than 35 years, said partnering with the state’s premier high school conference was a natural.

“Being able to work with 47 schools to promote high school sports fits perfectly with our goals, and we are delighted that the Shore Conference has shown the initiative to seek a partner who can help them fulfill their goals as well,'' Williams said. "Our team of Scott Stump, Matt Harmon, Ed Sarluca, Matt Manley, Bob Badders and Steve Meyer lives and breathes sports in Ocean and Monmouth counties, and we’re excited at what we can do working together with the schools and athletic directors.”

The two sides will also work together on this spring’s Sportsmanship Awards program that honors a female and male student-athlete from each school who best models the ideals of good sportsmanship and leadership.  ShoreSportsNetwork.com will also provide Shore Conference news and information and important updates on various tournaments.
