Ocean County Teams Take On The State
The 3rd Annual Toms River Winter Showcase on Saturday will feature boys basketball teams from Ocean County facing teams from across the state at the RWJBarnabas Health Arena on the campus of Toms River High School North. Presented in part by the Shore Sports Network the event tips-off at 11 a.m. when Brick (7-6) faces Lincoln of Jersey City (9-3). Following that Central (6-10) will take on Ridge from Basking Ridge (4-7) and in what should be the marquee game of the day Toms River North (11-3) will play Bishop Ahr (14-2) of Edison, one of the top teams in the Greater Middlesex Conference.
The final two games of the day will find Toms River South (3-12) meeting undefeated Academy Charter (11-0) of Lake Como and Toms River East (6-7) opposing Cumberland Regional (2-13) of Bridgeton.
Each of the five games will feature a Most Valuable Player Award donated by Ocean Trophies of Lanoka Harbor.
All-day admission is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for students and free programs with rosters will be provided by the Shore Sports Network.
