Just three days before they were scheduled to return to the football field, Monmouth University announced that their game at Robert Morris was postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test within the RMU program and related safety concerns.

The Hawks were scheduled to visit their longtime rival on Saturday in Moon Township, PA (noon) in what would have been Monmouth's first game since finishing an 11-3 season with a playoff loss to James Madison on December 7, 2019.

The Big South Conference office is working with both schools to reschedule the game for a later date. As it stands now Monmouth will open its season on Saturday, March 20 at Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.

The Hawks who are the preseason favorite to win the Big South in a four-game shortened season have home games scheduled on March 27 (Charleston Southern) and April 10 (Kennesaw State). Monmouth is ranked No. 24 in the FCS Top 25.
