ORIGINAL STORY:
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference continues its Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments Thursday in Atlantic City and will do so in front of mostly empty seats. The league announced that games will be limited to student-athletes, coaches, event staff, essential team and conference staff, media and immediate family members of the participating teams. This of course in response to the growing coronavirus that is spreading throughout the United States
Monmouth University (18-13, 12-8) is scheduled to play a quarterfinal round game tonight against Quinnipiac (15-15, 10-10) at Boardwalk Hall with tipoff at 9:30pm. The game can be heard live on the Shore Sports Network’s 1160/1310AM with Eddy Occhipinti and Steve Bazaz calling the action. The 4th seeded Hawks got a bye in the opening round and this will be their first action in the MAAC Tournament. The teams split a pair of regular-season games with each winning on their home court.
The winner will face top-seed Siena in the semifinals on Friday night.
