The Southern Regional Rams host the Monroe Falcons on Thursday November 9th, 2023 in the New Jersey Group IV Semi Finals Girls Volleyball tournament. The match takes place at 5:00 PM in Manahawkin, NJ.

Southern Regional enters the match at 30-2 fresh off a South Jersey Group IV victory over the Williamstown Braves in three sets. The Rams lineup is deep led by seniors Jordyn Hamlin (253 kills) and Molly Regulski (657 assists). Regulski manages multiple Ram threats in seniors Hamlin and Sarah Capone complimented by juniors Jess Smart and Bryn Hagen. Southern's defense has elevated over the course of the year with junior Libero Emily Brunatti (253 digs) who has gotten better nearly every match.

The visiting Monroe comes from the GMC (Greater Middlesex Conference) Red Division with a 29-3 record with two of their three losses coming from division foe Old Bridge. Third times a charm, because Old Bridge is who Monroe defeated in the Central Jersey Group IV finals on Tuesday.

Monroe's lineup is well balanced for senior Setter Alyssa Grau (543 assists) to distribute among seniors Ava Kwitkoski and Hannah Weinmann as well as underclassmen Natalie Grant and Kristina Latosh. The real challenge for the Rams will be the front line that has created a team total of 170 blocks with junior Sarah Levy leading that charge with 43.

By the numbers, this match shows fairly even with a slight edge to Monroe based off of their blocking abilities.

The winner today is going to have to get hot at strategic moments and ride the momentum. A difference maker for the Rams can actually be found in the stands as the Southern Regional crowd has the ability to bring electricity and energy.
