Coming off a 14-21 season (10-8 in conference) Monmouth has been picked fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll behind Iona, Rider and Quinnipiac.  Last season the Hawks came within a win of earning a spot in the NCAA Tournament as they fell to Iona in the championship game.

The Hawks return their two leading scorers in guards Ray Salnave (redshirt junior) and Deion Hammond (junior) and both were named to the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team. King Rice returns for his ninth season as head coach of the Hawks and is a two-time conference coach of the year.
