Sectional Semifinals

North Jersey 2, Group III

(5) Middletown South 4, (1) Somerville 3 (OT)

Sophomore Emma Laudisi scored the golden goal in overtime and the Eagles (13-5-4) knocked off the Pioneers (13-2-2) to reach the sectional final Friday at No. 3 West Morris. The game-winner was her third of the the game and fifth of the tournament, during which she has scored in all three Middletown South wins.

Emily McCarthy scored the other goal for the Eagles, which Diana Kousouris and Grace Massell each added an assist.

 

Central Jersey Group IV

(1) Freehold Twp. 4, (4) Old Bridge 0

Jasmine Colbert scored two first-half goals to get Freehold Township rolling and the Patriots (21-1) never looked back in topping the Knights (18-4-1). The No. 1 seed will host East Brunswick in the sectional final on Thursday.

Jada Colbert added a goal on a penalty kick and assisted Jasmine Colbert's second goal, as well as a goal by Meg Summonte that made the score 3-0 before halftime.

 

Central Jersey Group III

(6) Toms River East 2, (2) Steinert 1

Jillian Conklin scored the game-tying goal in the 56th minute and fired home the game-winner in the 65th to carry the Raiders (13-4-1) past the Spartans (18-2-2) and into the sectional final Thursday at top-seeded Allentown. With her two goals on Monday, Conklin ran her season total to 33.

Lauren Feaster scored off a pass from Kristen Gambardella in the first half, but the Redbirds (19-1) answered with three of their own in the first 40 minutes to take down the Cougars (11-6-1) and reach the sectional final Thursday against No. 6 Toms River East.

 

Central Jersey Group II

(1) Wall 6, (5) Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Lauren Karabin recorded a hat trick and the Crimson Knights (22-1-1) beat the Bulldogs (13-8) to reach and NJSIAA sectional final for the fourth time in the last five years - the first in Central Jersey Group II.

Karabin opened the scoring and Sarah Gordon added a goal before halftime to stake Wall to a 2-0 lead. Jenna Karabin made it 3-0 off a feed from her sister, Lauren, before Rumson broke up the shutout on a free kick by Margot Ridgeway.

Courtney Cardoner scored the fourth Wall goal and Lauren Karabin finished off her hat trick with two more goals in the second half to wrap up the scoring. Jaime Iorio also added two assists in the win.

Wall will host No. 2 A.L. Johnson in the sectional final on Thursday.

 

Central Jersey Group I

(4) Shore 2, (1) Metuchen 0

Frankie McDonough scored the first goal of the game in the first half and Sophia Hauritz added an insurance tally in the second half to lead the Blue Devils (17-4-2) past the Bulldogs (15-4-1) and into a sectional final for the seventh straight year. Shore will travel to play No. 3 Palmyra in the sectional final on Thursday.

 

South Jersey Group IV

(4) Toms River North 4, (8) Clearview 0

Four different Toms River North players scored a goal and Krystal Hund contributed her first two assists of the season to lead the Mariners (19-2) to a shutout win over the Pioneers (13-7-2) that puts them in the sectional final for the second straight year.

Marisa Tava, Jenna Royson, Melissa Wilhelm and Summer Petrick each scored a goal and Hund's assists were the first points she has recorded during this season, most of which she missed while recovering from a torn ACL. She saw her first action of 2017 in a first-round win over Lenape on Oct. 30.

Toms River North will travel for the first time this tournament for the sectional semifinal on Thursday, when the Mariners will take on No. 3 Washington Twp.

 

South Jersey Group III

(1) Ocean City 2, (4) Lacey 0

 

South Jersey, Non-Public A

(5) Bishop Eustace 1, (1) St. John Vianney 0 (OT)

Sammie Sorensen scored the golden goal during the second overtime period and the Crusaders (14-4-2) pulled out a win over the top-seeded Lancers (14-2-4) to advance to Thursday's sectional final against No. 2 Mount St. Mary's.
