Girls Basketball – Week 6 Player of the Week Voted by the Fans: Sofia Chebookjian

Girls Basketball Week 6 Player of the Week voted by the fans and presented by Thrive Spine and Sports Rehab.

Sofia Chebookjian, Ocean Township

Chebookjian posted her first double-double of the season and a season-high in points to help Ocean Township defeat rival Shore Regional. Her play led her to be voted by the fans as player of the week.

Chebookjian started the game off strong, scoring 11 of her season-high 15 points in the 1st quarter. She was also dominant on the glass, grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds in the game. She followed that game with 10 points against division rival Donovan Catholic to help Ocean secure back-to-back division titles.  

Chebookjian received 62.3 percent of the votes casted for the Week 6 fan voted Player of the Week award. Rumson’s Raquel Guidetti finished in second with 13.4 percent of the vote and Jackson Memorial’s Chelsea Lavezzo finished in third with 10 percent of the vote.

Each fan voted Player of the Week will receive one recovery session at Thrive Spine and Sports Rehab.
