Middletown South 57, Manalapan 34

Senior swing Kayla Richardson accumulated 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and three blocks to power the Eagles, who used a 29-12 outburst in the second quarter to open a 38-18 halftime lead.

Stephanie Mayerhofer complemented Richardson with 17 points and two combined to account for five of the nine 3-pointers sank by the Eagles.

A South

Toms River North 56, Toms River East 53 (2 OT)

Senior guard Kristina Johnson collected 18 points and six boards and sophomore guard Sydney Howell supplied 12 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists as Toms River North emerged victorious in a double-overtime thriller thanks to an 8-5 showing in the second extra session.

Sophomore forward Gia Pissott lent a hand in the win with seven points and 11 rebounds. Jordyn Madigan scored 20 and Emily Maire finished with 14 for Toms River East.

Southern 59, Toms River South 31

Seniors Kaela Curtin and Sam Del Rio clicked for 16 points apiece to pace the Rams, who opened a 25-11 cushion by intermission. Sophomore Summer Davis chipped in with 11 points.

Curtin, a 5-10 swing who hit a total of five 3-pointers during her entire junior year, flaunted her confidence from the perimeter by draining three on Opening Night.

Freshman guard Emma Wagner led Toms River South with eight points.

Brick Memorial 69, Central 68 (OT)

Junior guard Alexis Voorhees erupted for 27 points while sophomore forward Ella Moore and senior guard Jordan Viggiano netted 13 apiece to lift the Mustangs to the triumph in overtime.

Martine Chevalier countered with 20 for Central and Kayla Krzyzkowski deposited 12. Jadelynn Smith chipped in with 11.

B North

Red Bank 66, Wall 25

Senior guard Taylor Crystian, a transfer from the Patrick School, debuted for the Bucs by dropping in 18 points. Junior off guard Chloe Teter scored 15, junior guard Mia Strand had 12 and junior guard Amelia Medolla added 11. Junior guard Caitlyn Decker had six points and eight assists.

Neptune 59, Matawan 22

Sophomore guard Amaya Evans topped three players in double figures for Neptune with 16 points. Fellow sophomore guard Ahjanae Young had 14 points and six assists and senior forward Sophie Yevchak finished with 12.

Giana Aiello picked up 10 points and 10 rebounds for Matawan.

B South

Manchester 76, Lacey 39

Junior forward Destiny Adams celebrated the evening she accomplished a milestone with a mighty double-double. The 6-3 force, who needed 19 points on Opening Night, to reach 1,000 for her career, exploded for 25 points and 20 rebounds as the Hawks embarked on defense of their B South title. She added seven blocks.

Freshman Gabrielle Ross flipped in 16 in her debut and backcourt classmate Angelica Velez accumulated seven steals for Manchester, which established a 25-4 lead in the first quarter. Amyah Bray pumped in 17 points.

McKayla Mooney led Lacey with 16 points.

Non-Divisional

Marlboro 60, Trinity Hall 54
