At the end of each week, eight Shore Conference soccer players are nominated for the Player of the Week Online Award. Senior Editor Matt Manley will select a Player of the Week from each of the six Shore Conference divisions and two wild cards that can come from any of the divisions. The Shore Sports Network readers will then have two days to vote for their choice for Player of the Week, with the winner announced at the completion of the voting period. This week's voting period ends on Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Here are the nominees for week two. Continue scrolling to the bottom of the page to vote.

Class A North Player of the Week

Jon Finocchiaro, Freehold Twp.

Freehold Township had its best week of the season and Finocchiaro was a significant part of each of his team’s three wins. The senior scored four goals in three games last week – all Patriots wins. He scored twice in a 5-1 win over Colts Neck, scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Neptune, and scored the first of three second-half goals by Freehold Township in a 3-1 win over No. 1 CBA.

Honorable Mention: Kevin Finn, Freehold Twp.; Alex Langa, Freehold Twp.; Jake Brower, Freehold Boro; Adam Jiries, Howell; Robert Saunders, Howell; Gavin Lebright, Manalapan; Dylan Dougher, Howell; Cam Elslager, Freehold Boro

Class A Central Player of the Week

Anthony Arena, Holmdel

Arena continued his monster season last week with four goals and four assists in three games, and that was included a 1-0 loss at Pingry on Saturday. With his hat trick against Shore, Arena became the third Shore Conference player to reach 20 goals, a milestone it took Arena only 10 games to reach.

Honorable Mention: Cyrus Darvish, Holmdel; Justin McStay, Holmdel; Nick Bavaro, Raritan; Jeremy Nives, Rumson-Fair Haven; Griffin Heyward, Matawan; Jake Fortune, Raritan; Leo Montesinos, Shore

Class A South Player of the Week

Lou Nazarro, Brick Memorial

Last week was a relatively long one for Brick Memorial, which played two 100 minute games before beating St. Rose on Satuday. Nazzaro scored a goal and assisted the equalizer by Erik Fatovic in a 2-2 tie vs. Brick – a game in which the Green Dragons took a 2-0 lead into the final three minutes before Nazzaro and Fatovic struck. Nazzaro also scored a goal in the win over St. Rose.

Honorable Mention: Ben Schnaak, Jackson Memorial; Dan Russo, Jackson Memorial; Brad Bischoff, Southern

Class B North Player of the Week

Brian Waltsak, Monmouth

Monmouth desperately needed someone to step up with 22-goal scorer Joel Burgos sidelined due to injury this week and Waltsak more than answered the call. The junior forced and scored a penalty kick in Monmouth’s 1-0 win over Wall last Wednesday to clinch Monmouth a spot in the Shore Conference Tournament, then scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Red Bank Catholic.

Honorable Mention: Stiviny Silva, Long Branch; Jonathan Santos, Middletown South; Luke Yates, Ocean; Steve Carton, Ocean; Connell MacLellan, Middletown South; Blaise Tamburi, Red Bank Catholic; Alex Nichols, Red Bank Catholic

Class B Central Player of the Week

Danny Savage, Point Beach

For a second straight week, a Point Beach player is the B Central player of the week. After Ki Costa was in the Player of the Week running a week ago, it is Savage who will carry the mantle for the Garnet Gulls following a week in which he scored three goals and two assists in two wins over Henry Hudson and Mater Dei Prep.

Honorable Mention: Evan Walters, St. Rose; Brandon Thomas, Ranney

Class B South Player of the Week

Jake Brzyski, Point Boro

The Panthers continued to hang around in the B South race with two wins last week and Brzyski was right in the think of both victories. He scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute to give Point Boro a 2-1 win over Jackson Liberty last Tuesday, then recorded a goal and two assists in a 5-0 rout of Lakewood on Thursday.

Honorable Mention: Anthony Diaz, Pinelands; Cory Branz, Barnegat; Ryan Flaherty, Barnegat; Riley Hunt, Lacey

Wild Cards

Luke Yates, Ocean

Yates came up big last week for the Spartans, who continued their roll through B North by becoming the first Shore Conference team to clinch no worse than a share of the division title. Yates dished out three assists between two wins over Monmouth and Manasquan, then capped his week with a golden goal strike to beat Middletown North on Friday.

Jake Brower, Freehold Boro

Freehold Boro entered last week needing to go at least 3-0-1 in its next four games to qualify for the Shore Conference Tournament and the Colonials have nearly delivered after going 3-0 last week. Brower was involved in all three of Freehold’s wins over Neptune, Manalapan and Marlboro. He scored a goal in the wins over Neptune and Manalapan and assisted Cam Elslager’s golden goal against Marlboro.
