American Division

CBA 14, Shore 4
Senior attackman Ryan Martin totaled five goals and one assist and junior midfielder Davis Campbell provided three goals and one assist to lead the Colts (10-4, 5-2) to a victory over the Blue Devils (7-3, 3-3).

Junior midfielder Hunter Kilpatrick added a goal and two assists and junior attackman Carter McGuire had a goal and an assist. Scoring one goal each were freshman attackman Turner Cooke, sophomore attackman Caden Lucich, senior midfielder Jack Santos, and junior LSM Jackson Gervais. Junior LSM Quinn Kelly had two assists to give him 26 points on the season. Freshman FOGO John Little won 8 of 12 face-offs and senior FOGO Cole McManus went 4-for-8 at the X, while senior goalie Brandon Desena (7 saves) and junior goalie Luke Phillips (1 save) split time in the cage.

CBA led 9-3 at halftime.

Senior attackman Carson Spallone scored twice and senior Brady Cooke and sophomore Reid Spallone each scored once for Shore Regional. Junior midfielder Tucker Malfa had two assists and senior goalie Noah Karaban made nine saves.

 

Holmdel 12, Wall 7

Sophomore attackman Finn Buchan fired in six goals and added one assist and senior midfielder Will Gilfillan delivered a goal and five assists when the Hornets (9-4, 3-4) used a big second quarter to defeat the Crimson Knights (2-7, 1-4).

The game was tied 2-2 after the first quarter before Holmdel scored seven times in the second quarter to open a 10-3 halftime lead. Junior attackman Brian Volpe notched a hat trick, senior midfielder Gary Collyer tallied two goals and two assists, and sophomore midfielder Jack Cannon dished out four assists. Sophomore goalie Jack Tiller made 11 saves and junior FOGO Jack Powers went 12-for-21 at the X.

 

Red Bank 13, Southern 10

Senior midfielder Andrew Pape scored five goals and added four assists and sophomore attackman Gabe Pape scored four goals to guide the Bucs (5-7, 1-6) to their first divisional victory with a win over the Rams (4-6, 0-6).

Red Bank opened a 5-0 lead after the first quarter but Southern answerd with a four-goal second quarter as the Bucs held a 6-4 halftime lead. RBR led 8-7 heading to the fourth quarter and outscored Southern 5-3 over the final 12 minutes.

Sophomore midfielder Ryan Deverin added two goals for Red Bank while senior Finn Tierney and junior attackman Jack Tavares each scored once. Freshman Justin Valentino had four assists and senior goalie Kyle Borenius made 13 saves.

Southern senior attackman Konnor Forlai had a goal and three assists to reach 100 career points, while senior midfielder Antnony Arch registered three goals and one assist and junior Joe Kessler sank three goals. Junior midfielder Collin Markoski scored twice and went 22-for-29 at the face-off X, junior Liam Griffin scored once, and freshman Kyle Sininsky had two assists. Junior AJ Mattern (7 saves) and freshman Nick Hughes (5 saves) split time in goal.

 

Colonial Division

Manalapan 13, Toms River East 3

Senior midfielder Marc Stefanelli tallied two goals and three assists and senior attackman Christian Zdziarski scored two goals and added two assists as the Braves (9-1, 6-0) ran past the Raiders (8-3, 4-2) to clinch the outright Colonial Division title for the program's first division championship.

Manalapan has a 6-0 record in the division with one division game to play and holds a two-game lead over Point Boro, Toms River East, and Middletown South.

Senior attackman Michael Bonner and junior midfielder Matt Avivi had two goals and one assist each, and senior midfielder Anthony Macchio and junior attackman Jack Schatz each scored twice. Junior midfielder Jake Piedrahita went 15-for-19 at the face-off X and senior defenseman Aidan Wilmot picked up seven ground balls.

Manalapan led 7-1 at halftime.

Sophomore attackman Nicholas Caruso scored twice and junior midfielder Nate Cummings scored once for Toms River East.

 

Point Boro 10, Jackson Memorial 7

Senior midfielder Gavin Reid tallied four goals and two assists, senior midfielder Matt Woit stacked three goals and one assist, and senior goalie Colin Cole steered aside nine shots as the Panthers (10-2, 4-2) tamed the Jaguars (5-6, 3-4) to continue the best season in program history.

Senior midfielder Greyson Ritter and junior attackman Brady Kirk each posted a goal and an assist and junior midfielder Jason Piemonte scored once.

 

Middletown South 10, Red Bank Catholic 7

Senior attackman Logan Bailin sank four goal and assisted on another and junior Joe Sarci tallied a goal and two assists as the Eagles (5-5, 4-2) evened their season record by defeating the Caseys (6-7, 4-3).

Senior defenseman Will Nugent scored twice, senior Jake Saywer and sophomore Jackson O'Keefe each had a goal and an assist, senior defenseman Owen Richter scored once and picked up six ground balls, and senior goalie Sean Burns made eight saves.

RBC senior goalie Gianvito Viola made 16 saves to reach the 300-career save milestone. Sophomore midfielder Frank Tackett led the Caseys with three goals and one assist while senior midfielder Brian Vecchio went 15-for-20 on face-offs, scored twice, and collected 11 ground balls. Senior attackman Jackson Lu also scored twice and senior defenseman Connor Harms snagged nine ground balls.

The game was tied 4-4 at halftime before Middletown South scored four times in the third quarter to take the lead for good.

 

Howell 8, Barnegat 7

Senior attackman Jon Peal Pepe gathered a ground ball and sent a pass to sophomore attackman Mike Kelly, who buried the go-ahead goal in the fourth quarter to lift the Rebels (5-7, 1-6) to a thrilling victory over the Bengals (4-8, 0-7).

Howell lead 4-0 at halftime before Barnegat scored five times in the third quarter to cut Howell's lead to 6-5 heading into the fourth quarter.

Junior attackman Jayden Devino scored a game-high three goals, Kelly finished with a goal and two assists, senior attackman Ian McDow scored twice, and junior goalie Adam Baker made 11 saves to help lead Howell. Junior midfielder Nick Turturro and sophomore midfielder Cole Reinsdorf had a goal and an assist each and Peal Pepe dished out two assists. Junior midfielder Jack Elias went 15-for-8 on face-offs.

Freshman Liam Strange scored twice and sophomore goalie DJ Swierk made 11 saves to lead Barnegat. Juniors Stephen Griffin, Jakob Jason, and Jason McHale each had a goal and an assist while sophomores Code Shaffrey and Leonardo Chamorro each scored once.

 

Constitution Division

Middletown North 6, Ocean 5 (OT)
Senior Hayden Mattos delivered the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Lions (9-2, 7-0) a dramatic win over the Spartans (7-6, 5-2) that clinched their first division title in program history.

Mattos and freshman Noah Fleming each recorded two goals and one assist while junior Graham Kennedy had a goal and an assist and senior Tim Cherney scored once. Senior midfielder Gavin Eremus went 9-for-15 at the face-off X and junor goalie Mario Lorenson made 12 saves.

Sophomore attackman Connor Holevinski recorded a hat trick and senior midfielder Ben Girard had a goal and two assists to lead Ocean. Junior attackman Vincent Stolowski scored once and sophomore goalie River Pinto made 12 saves.

Middletown North finished unbeaten in division play. Its two losses this season have come against Colonial Division opponents Middletown South and division champion Manalapan.

 

Freehold Township 15, Marlboro 5

Senior attackman Nolan Thompson sank four goals and assisted on two more and junior Brenden Carfagno delivered three goals and two assists to power the Patriots (6-5, 4-3) to a win over the district rival Mustangs (2-9, 2-5).

Senior midfielder Nick Carnevale added two goals and two assists, junior midfiedler Ryan Rowolt had two goals and one assist, and senior midfielder Conor Monroe had a goal and an assist. Senior Alesandro Principato, junior Ryan Rutt, and sophomore Dom Fiore each scored once while junior midfielder Nate Reiser sent out two assists. Junior goalie Junior Alvarado made nine saves.

Senior attackman Jason Sondak and junior attackman/midfielder Sam Shapiro each scored twice to lead Marlboro. Junior midfielder Braden Dupey had a goal and an assist, junior midfielder AJ Muhlbach picked up nine ground balls, and Brayden Gallo made nine saves.

 

Colts Neck 20, Neptune 1

Senior Luke Petino recorded a career-high eight points with three goals and five assists to lead the way for the Cougars (5-5, 5-2) in their victory over the Scarlet Fliers (1-9, 1-6).

Scoring their first varsity goals for Colts Neck where Sam Surdez, Conor Caulfield, Ryan Siedenburg, Frank Curreri, and Lorenzo Barone.

Tyler Roth added four goals, Luke Ferraro had two goals and two assists, and Ethan Sloane had a goal and three assists. Tesio Carabello scored twice and junior Nick Zazza had a goal and an assist for his first varsity points. Senior midfielder Marco Garcia went 15-for-17 at the face-off X and scored a goal while Chris Dalby scored once. Brent DeThomasis chipped in with two assists.

Senior Aaron Nasimov (2 saves) and sophomore Max Visoky (1 save) split time in goal.

 

St. John Vianney 22, Long Branch 0

Seniors William Keagan and Colin Bradley each scored seven goals and added two assists and sophomore midfielder Max Menkowitz went 22-for-24 on face-offs and stacked a goal and four assists to power the Lancers (6-6, 4-3) past the Green Wave (0-11, 0-7).

Brendan Allen added two goals, Declan Greene had a goal and two assists, and Khush Mehta and Blake Hawthorn provided a goal and an assist each. Freshman Tyler Ellis had a goal and an assist for his first varsity points and freshman Daniel Rodman also scored his first varsity goal. Matt Doherty had three assists and sophomore goalie Cameron Esposito made four saves.

 

Freedom Division

Lacey 17, Jackson Liberty 14

Junior attackman Corey Smith and sophomore attackman Braedyn Gialanella combined for 13 goals and 21 points as the Lions (5-8, 4-3) won a high octane barnburner to hand the Lions (9-2, 6-1) their first division loss of the season.

Smith scored seven goals and added three assists for 10 points and Gialanella recorded six goals and five assists for a team-leading 11 points. Sophomore attackman Ryan Gleason added three goals and two assists, junior midfielder Connor Simonson scored once, and freshman attackman Luke Miller sent out two assists. Junior LSM Derek Hurley picked up 14 ground balls for his ninth straight game with double-digit ground balls, and junior goalie Nicholas Vetter made nine saves.

Senior attackman Paul Capozzi led Jackson Liberty with a game-high 12 points on seven goals and five assists, and also dominated the face-off X by going 19-for 23. Sophomore Jeff White provided four goals and one assist while seniors Jeffery Keagan, Bobby Balatico, and Joshua Friedman each scored once. Senior goalie Matt LaBianca made 15 saves.

Lacey's victory propelled Donovan Catholic into sole possession of first place in the division. The Griffins clinched at least a share of the division championship and can claim the title outright if it defeats Jackson Liberty on Friday when the teams meet in their final division game.

 

Donovan Catholic 17, Central 4

Senior midfielder Andrew Baltus scored five goals and won 14 of 16 face-offs as the Griffins (8-2, 7-0) defeated the Golden Eagles (4-8, 0-6).

Donovan's win coupled with Jackson Liberty's loss to Lacey gave the Griffins at least a share of the Freedom Division title. They need to defeat Jackson Liberty on Friday to clinch the title outright.

Freshman attackman Gavin Nascimento piled up two goals and four assists, junior midfielder Teague Hibbard had four goals and one assist, and senior attackman Jack Farlekas had a hat trick and one assist to help lead Donovan's offense. Senior midfielder Evan Roeber added a goal and two assists and sophomore attackman David Wentworth and junior defenseman Alex Sles each scored once. Sophomore goalie Jack Barone made eight saves.

Junior midfielder Thomas Rotella scored twice and junior goalie Brady Etzkorn made 18 saves to lead Central. Junior attackman Brian Vannote and sophomore attackman Jake Agugliaro had one goal apiece.

 

Brick Memorial 14, St. Rose 0

Sophomore attackman Jack Deufemia scored five goals and added two assists for a career-high seven points when the Mustangs (5-8, 5-2) blanked the Purple Roses (2-9, 0-6) to snap a four-game losing streak.

Sophomore attackman Nick Correia scored four goals and junior attackman Austin Edwards scored twice. Senior midfielder Connor Dietz scored once while junior midfielder Jayden Tholen and senior midfielder Connor Tichenor each scored their first varsity goals. Junior goalie Matt Hillin made 10 saves to pick up his first career shutout.

 

Toms River South 11, Brick 9

 

Nonconference

Summit 7, Rumson-Fair Haven 2

Sophomore attackman Luke Lydon and senior midfielder Andy Croddick scored goals in the fourth quarter but the Bulldogs (10-2) could not crack Summit's vaunted defense and fell to the Hilltoppers (9-2) in a matchup between two of the state's top programs.

Early turnovers doomed Rumson and allowed Summit to dictate the flow of the game with long offensive possessions and stifling defensive play. Senior LSM Carter Shallcross helped lead the way and sophomore goalie Robbie Kievit was excellent with 14 saves. Senior midfielder Sean McCeney delivered a hat trick and senior attackman Daniel Flaim had three assists to lead Summit's offense. Junior midfielder Tyler Sebastian, sophomore attackman James Grainger, senior midfielder Luke Harris, and sophomore midfielder Jack Freeman added one goal apiece.

Senior FOGO Luke Marascio went 10-for-13 at the face-off X and freshman goalie Seamus Gorman made six saves for Rumson, which put forth a great defensive effort. Summit led 2-0 at halftime and 4-0 heading into the fourth quarter.
