Sophomore Brendan Carfagno scored a career-high six goals and senior midfielder Nick Carnevale had a goal plus a career-best six assists to power the Patriots (9-7) past the rival Cougars (6-8) and into the semifinals. The victory also avenged a regular-season loss to Colts Neck.

Junior goalie Junior Alvarado made 15 saves while senior attackman Nolan Thompson tallied two goals and one assist. Scoring one goal each were senior midfielder Conor Monro and junior defenseman Braeden Larkin with junior Lorenzo Machado and sophomore Jace Sclafani each scoring their first varsity goal.

Freehold Township awaits the winner of Tuesday's game between top-seeded Barnegat and Toms River South.

 

(6) Brick Memorial 9, (3) Jackson Liberty 6

Junior attackman Austin Edwards scored a career-high four goals, sophomore attackman Nick Correia posted two goals and three assists, and junior goalie Matt Hillin made 11 saves as the Mustangs (8-8) avenged a regular-season loss to the Lions (10-4) to advance to the semifinals.

The Mustangs scored five times in the first quarter and led 5-0 after the first 12 minutes. After Jackson Liberty scored twice to cut Brick Memorial's lead to 5-2 at halftime, the teams each scored four goals in the second half.

Sophomore attackman Noah Gambroney added a goal and two assists while senior midfielder Connor Dietz and sophomore midfielder Shane Trautweiler each scored once. Junior FOGO Frank Taylor went 12-for-18 on face-offs and junior midfielder AJ Ehrmantraut had one assist and 10 ground balls.

Senior attackman Paul Capozzi had two goals and one assist and senior Joshua Friedman scored twice for Jackson Liberty. Senior goalie Matt LaBianca made 11 saves, senior Joe Accordino had a goal and an assist, sophomore Jeff White scored once, and junior Jacob Bandelt picked up seven ground balls.

Brick Memorial will host seventh-seeded St. John Vianney in the semifinals after the Lancers upended second-seeded Ocean, 13-7.

Senior William Keegan sank three goals and assisted on two more and senior Khush Mehta delivered two goals and two assists to lead the Lancers (10-6) past the Spartans (8-8) and into the semifinals.

The victory also avenged a regular-season loss to Ocean.

Junior Kyle Dimarco contributed a goal and four assists and sophomore midfielder Max Menkowitz won 20 of 23 face-offs and assisted on a goal. Senior Colin Bradley and junior Brendan Allen scored twice, junior Matt Doherty had a goal and two assists, and junior Blake Hawthorn had a goal and an assist. Sophomore goalie Cameron Esposito made 12 saves and senior Declan Greene scored once and picked up a game-high nine ground balls.

Senior midfielder Ben Girard scored five goals to lead Ocean. Senior midfielder Matthew Mosey and sophomore attackman James Knight scored once each.

St. John Vianney will play at No. 6 seed Brick Memorial on Wednesday in the semifinals.

Nondivisional

Point Boro 18, Toms River North 1

Junior attackman Brady Kirk struck for five goals and five assists to eclipse the 250-point milestone for his career as the Panthers (13-3) routed the Mariners (4-11) to set a program record for wins in a season.

Freshman midfielder Blake Engelken won 19 of 21 face-offs and picked up eight ground balls and senior attackman Gavin Reid accounted for five goals and three assists. Senior midfielder Greyson Ritter totaled three goals and two assists, senior midfielder Matt Woit scored twice, sophomore Nick Prendeville had a goal and an assist, senior midfielder Robert Trapanese scored once, and sophomore midfielder Connor Trapanese scored his first varsity goal. Senior goalie Colin Cole made seven saves.

 

Nonconference

Southern 8, Holy Spirit 7

Senior midfielder Anthony Arch and juniors Liam Griffin and Joe Kessler all scored twice as the Rams (10-6) outlasted the Spartans (10-5) on senior night.

Senior attackman Konnor Forlai had three assists and senior goalie Nick Roesch made seven saves splitting time with junior goalie AJ Mattern (9 saves). Freshman Kyle Sininsky added a goal and an assist, freshman Cash McVey scored once, freshman Shea O'Donnell had two assists, and junior midfielder Collin Markoski won 11 of 19 face-offs.

 

Marlboro 18, Edison 8

Senior attackman Jason Sondak erupted for a career-high seven goals to lead an offensive showcase for the Mustangs (4-13) in their victory over the Eagles (4-11).

Junior attackman Sam Shapiro registered two goals and three assists, senior midfielder Steven Dimino posted three goals and one assist, senior LSM Dominic Paparo recorded two goals and one assist, and junior FOGO Andrew Silvia won 9 of 13 face-offs and dished out four assists.

Junior defenseman Tyler Gellis added one goal, one assist, and 10 ground balls while junior midfielder Daniel Onushkanich scored once, junior attackman Shayne Gallo had two assists, and sophomore LSM Jennaro Percodano picked up 10 ground balls and had an assist for his first varsity point. Brayden Gallo made five saves and Jack Lichtenthal made three saves.

 

Absegami 6, Central 2

Sophomore attackman Jake Agugliaro and senior midfielder Matt Golizio each scored once, senior attackman Grant Paczkowski had two assists, and junior goalie Brady Etzkorn made 20 saves for the Golden Eagles (5-11) in their loss to the Braves (9-5).
