CLASS A SOUTH

Toms River East 7, Brick 6 (2OT)

Evan Otten scored the game-winning goal in double overtime and Tyber Budrow made 16 saves, including two crucial saves in the fourth quarter, as the Raiders (7-2) won a thriller over the Dragons (5-4).

Otten finished with four goals and one assist and Salvatore Esposito scored three times. Matt Gannon had three assists and Kohler Wagner and Anthony Marinelli each picked up nine ground balls.

 

Jackson Memorial 9, Toms River North 5

 

Brick Memorial 7, Toms River South 6

Matt Ingenito scored the game-tying goal with 1:44 left before sinking the game-winning goal with 17 seconds left as the Mustangs (4-7) scored three goals in the final three minutes to rally past the Indians (2-7).

Senior attackman Joey Ferrara led the way with three goals and one assist. Ian Thomas added one goal, Rex Freeman scored his first varsity goal and Dawson Heath and Tyler Sindel each had two assists. Kyle Mueller went 11-for-13 on face-offs and Jake White made 18 saves.

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 6 Rumson-Fair Haven at Red Bank Catholic, 3:45 p.m.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 2 Christian Brothers 6, No. 1 Manasquan 4

A three-goal surge early in the second quarter and an awesome game in goal by senior Chris Downey helped the Colts (10-0) defeat the Warriors (9-2) in a matchup of the top two teams in the Shore Conference.

Trailing 2-1 after the first quarter, CBA scored three times in the first 3:04 of the second quarter thanks to three straight face-off wins by senior Nick Robertson. Junior attackman Connor Macrae scored just 10 seconds into the quarter and Robbie Hermansen and Kevin Junquet followed with goals to give the Colts a 4-2 lead. Macrae finished with two goals while Hermansen, Junquet, Luke Valentino and Micahel Carroll each scored once.

Downey was tremendous with 11 saves, including four in the final quarter to help CBA hold onto its lead.

Junior midfielder James Pendergist led Manasquan with three goals while junior attackman Canyon Birch had one goal and one assist and junior attackman Ryan Anderson had two assists. Junior goalie Mike LaPoint also had a great game in the cage with 11 saves.

Red Bank 14, Marlboro 8

Seamus Cochrane tallied five goals and three assists and Ryan McGee also scored five times to power the Bucs to a win over the Mustangs.

Tor Haugenes added two goals and two assists and Dan Bonanno and Dean Hottman each had one goal and one assist. Matt Gibson made 11 saves and Will Spencer went 18-for-26 on face-offs with 12 ground balls.

 

NONCONFERENCE

Mainland 8, No. 4 Southern 6

Cade Johnson scored twice and Luke Maul made 12 saves, but the Rams (8-2) fell to the Mustangs (9-1) in Linwood. Ryan Comfort had one goal and one assist and Nick Stankus, Ryan McWhorter and Ajani Steverson each scored once.
